College Football Recruiting 2013: Top Schools for Top 25 Uncommitted Recruits

Arguably, one could very well state that we're in the second most important phase of the recruiting cycle, as the signing period, of course, is the most important time.

This is the live evaluation period to which a.ssistant coaches can travel to schools and evaluate a prospect live and in person. You'll see a lot of stock rise and fall during this period, as it coincides with the camps and combines circuit.

For this read, we're giving the very top suitors for the top 25 uncommitted recruits.

25. Leon McQuay, S
McQuay is the type of safety that a defensive coordinator in college will love.

He's going to help line the back end up, can adjust coverages to formations, sets, personnel groupings, shifts and motions and rarely be caught out of position.

At 6'1", 185 pounds, McQuay has excellent instincts in coverage, natural ball skills and good hands.

Top Schools: Florida, Stanford, USC, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt.

24. Jordan Cunningham, WR

At 6'1", 175 pounds, Cunningham is a glider that can get all around the field with ease. He's long and lean on the hoof, but shows good hands and athleticism.

Cunningham is aware to find voids in coverages, shows good body control and will f!ght for balls outside his frame.

Top Schools: Stanford, Miami, Alabama and USC.

23. Vonn Bell, DB
Bell is a versatile safety prospect that can play a couple positions in the secondary. He stands 6'1", 190 pounds and can play FS, SS and even boundary corner on the back end.

Bell has good speed, easy athleticism and movement skills and can break on the quickly. He'll attack the run and has some thumping ability for a DB.

Top Schools: Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame, Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

22. Darrell Daniels, CA
A California native, Daniels is a big WR that stands 6'3" and 210 pounds. He looks excellent on the hoof and uses his thick frame well.

Daniels can get off the line, has a burst to get the football in flight, leaping ability and body control to make tough grabs.

Top Schools: USC, Oregon, Cal, Washington, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Notre Dame and UCLA.

21. Priest Willis, S

Willis is a big and physical safety, but don't close your a.ssessment on him as just a box player. The 6'2", 190-pounder is a very good athlete and can play the back end well.

Willis is excellent in attacking the line of scrimmage, has great range vs. the run and will light up a ball carrier. Against the pass, he has good agility and will make a play on the ball in flight.

Top Schools: UCLA, USC, Florida, Miami, LSU, Notre Dame, Florida State, Arizona, Arizona State and Nebraska.

20. Laquon Treadwell, WR

n Illinois native, Treadwell is a 6'2", 190-pound pass catcher with excellent suddenness. He can release off the line quickly, eat up cushion, stem up a DB, leave him and get on top of a secondary with outstanding speed.

An excellent athlete, Treadwell has good hands and is very dangerous after the catch. He has excellent elusiveness with the football and can work well at all three defensive levels.

19. Dontre Wilson, RB

Wilson is a 5'10", 180-pound RB prospect that also can play the slot and return kicks for a squad. A Texas native, Wilson is one of the fastest players in the country.

You put Wilson in space and watch as his quick feet and stop and start ability take over. Once he finds a crease and an angle on a defense, he can dart upfield and, more times than not, to the endzone.

Top Schools: Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.

18. Cooper Bateman, QB

Bateman is a Utah native that goes 6'3", 205 pounds. He has perhaps the strongest arm in the country and can attack a defense deep from right in the pocket.

Bateman also is a solid athlete, has good mobility and can even get upfield with the ball using his legs. He's a very intriguing prospect.

Top Schools: Alabama, LSU, Auburn. Florida, Utah and Washington.

17. Ryan Green, RB

Green is a running back that stands 5'11" and 190 pounds. He is from Florida and may be the fastest and most explosive offensive prospect in the state, which we all know is saying something.

Green has excellent speed, good elusiveness and is a threat to score every time he gets to the second level.

Top Schools: Florida State, Notre Dame and Florida.

16. Max Redfield, S

At 6'2", 195 pounds, Redfield may be the best pure FS prospect in the country. Really, if you want a classic FS to roam around and really combat the passing game, he's your man.

Reedfield is an excellent athlete, has outstanding speed and range and shows natural ball skills to make picks.

Top Schools: USC, Oregon, LSU and Washington.

15. Justin Davis, RB

A very productive back, Davis will try to rush for another 2,000 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2012. He stands 6'0", 200 pounds and has a good skill set.

Davis is not afraid to run inside, can push a pile and gain his own yards with strength. Yet he also flashes good speed to jump to the edges, elusiveness in the open field and speed to reel off long runs.

Top Schools: USC, Cal and Washington.

14. Jaylon Smith, OLB

Smith is a Hoosier State native and has a chance to develop into a complete second-level defender. He stands 6'3", 225 pounds and has great athleticism and cover ability.

Look for Smith to be a three-down 'backer in college, covering TE's and RB's on passing downs. Smith also can get upfield as a blitzer and has speed to hawk ball carriers in pursuit.

Top Schools: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue and Indiana.

13. Stacy Coley, WR

Coley is a 6'1", 175-pound receiver that can get it done in a big way on the perimeter. He has easy movement, agility and excellent speed.

He can get on top of a secondary and be a prime deep threat. When defenses put a safety on top of him, he'll work the intermediate level, secure the ball and do damage an a great RAC player.

Top Schools: Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Florida, Miami, Oregon,USC, and Tennessee.

12. Dorain Johnson, OT

A Keystone State native, Johnson is a great OT prospect that stands 6'6" and 285 pounds. He comes off the ball well at the snap and can shock a target with some jolt in his punch at the point of attack.

Johnson has great play strength to steer targets and is a good athlete for a big man. He flashes great patience as a pass protector and is quick to recover.

Top Schools: Penn State and Pitt.

11. Matthew Thomas, OLB/DE

Thomas has the make up of a classic 3-4 OLB. The 6'4", 210-pounder can rush with ease from a two-point stance and has great athleticism.

Thomas is excellent at the snap, has incredible length to stay clean from blockers, strength to f!ght in his pressure and a burst to finish on the passer.

Top Schools: Miami, Alabama, Oklahoma, South Florida, Florida State and Florida.

10. Montravius Adams, DT

Adams is a 6'3" DT that weighs almost 290 pounds. He's very, very explosive at the snap, as this is his best a.sset.

Adams can jump on top of a blocker, and when he plays with good leverage and pad level, his strength increases.

Adams can penetrate a gap and a TFL on the norm, and once he gets a better pass-rush plan, his game will expand.

Top Schools: Clemson, Michigan State, LSU, Oregon and USC.

9. Michael Hutchings, OLB

Hutchings plays OLB but could also move back to SS in college. He's a 6'1", 210-pound defensive player that has solid speed and instincts.

Hutchings has great range, pursues well and has good lateral agility. He can defend the pass thanks to good quickness, agility and athleticism.

Top Schools: USC, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Washington and Cal.

8. Kendall Fuller, DB

Fuller is an outstanding athlete and has a vast amount of potential. He's 6'0", 180 pounds and has great speed, balance, quickness and agility.

His length and athleticism make you drool as a corner prospect. He'll get coached up and develop into an elite cover corner in college.

Top Schools: Michigan, Virginia Tech and Clemson.

7. Robert Foster, WR

Foster is a 6'2", 190-pound receiver from the Pittsburgh area. This guy can sail off the line and may be the most explosive pass catcher in this national class.

Foster is speedy, yet smooth in his route running, doesn't need to decelerate to get into his cuts, has quickness to separate out of them and his hands are solid. He's excellent as a RAC player.

Top Schools: Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida and more.

[pic - click to view]

6. Antonio Conner, SS

Conner is a 6'2", 200-pound strong safety from Mississippi. He's an excellent open field tackler, flying up from the back end to make a stop.

His speed is very good, which helps his rang eon the back end. He's improving his awareness with each rep in coverage and has the tools to develop into a complete safety.

Top Schools: Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Alabama.

[pic - click to view]

5. Ty Isaac, RB
Isaac is a 6'2", 220-pound running back from Illinois that can do smaller back things. At his size, it's neat to see a big RB have great speed, elusiveness, quickness and lateral movement.

Isaac also has excellent hands and can factor a receiver out of the backfield. He has three-down potential.

Top Schools: USC Committed today. Michigan Lost

[pic - click to view]

Su'a Cravens, S/OLB

Hailing from Southern California, the 6'1", 205-pound Cravens is the top player on the West coast. He can factor as a SS, FS, RB, WR and OLB.

OLB and safety seem to be the prime spots he projects best at, but don't count out RB. Cravens is a super athlete, has great speed, agility, easy movement skills, instincts and is a playmaker at whatever position he plays.

Top Schools: USC, UCLA, Michigan, Ohio State and Nebraska.

[pic - click to view]

3. Vernon Hargreaves III, CB

The top cover corner in the country, Hargreaves stands 5'10", 185 pounds on the hoof. He shows great awareness, instincts and is just a smart, heady player.

Hargreaves can slow-play a route, be patient, read it and jump a passing lane for a pick or a PBU. His loose hips allows him to turn and run, and his speed can carry a WR deep.

Top Schools: Florida, South Florida, USC, Alabama among others.

[pic - click to view]

2. Laremy Tunsil, OT

Tunsil has bulked his frame up to 295 pounds, which has increased his strength a bit. He stands 6'6" and has excellent athleticism and agility for a big man.

A prospect with a high ceiling, Tunsil can shadow a rusher with god feet, bends well and has the quickness to recover and adjust. He's willing as a run blocker, will mix it up at the point of attack and can hit a moving target on the second level.

Top Schools: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma.

[pic - click to view]

1. Robert Nkemdiche, DE

Nkemdiche is a 6'5" monster that weighs 270 pounds and can play DE, DT or even OLB in a 3-4. He's a super athlete, has "wow" strength and power and may be the best prospect in the modern recruiting era.

Nkemdiche overwhelms competition now and is physically ready to big-boy football right now. He's the top prospect in the country on any list.

Top Schools: Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson LSU, Florida and Georgia.

Nkemdiche is a Bama/Ole Miss/Clemson battle. His HC played at Bama, his brother plays at Ole Miss, and His HC and Dabo played together at Bama. None of those other schools (including mine) have a shot. He'll end up at Bama and they will have the #1 and #2 recruits in the US. I hate that school

Tunsil is a UGA/UF battle. UGA wins

Adams is a Clemson/UGA battle. UGA wins after they put in too much time with Nkemdiche.

Vonn Bell is a Tenn Lock. $$$ talks

Justin Davis

This week, another of the nation's top backs, Justin Davis, is slated to make a college choice and USC is the front runner. Isaac says that won't affect Davis and it won't affect him.
"We've spoken and it's all good. You've got one goal in mind. I'm coming to do my thing, he's coming to do his thing and we're going to push each other to be better. I think, you look everywhere and they're running two backs in every system. Obviously we both welcome the competition, and we're looking forward to doing some big things in the offense."
