He'll be fine..the tendons end up being stronger afterwards anyway
it's supposed to be...but i re-tore mine after surgery and came back to the doctor and he insisted it was fine for that very reason. got injured again after surgery and he said the same thing. got injured a THIRD time after surgery and finally went to a new doctor who said it had torn again lol.

my surgery took about 3-4 hours and im sure he went cadaver graft (patella tendon from a dead donor to be placed as new ACL) no way he went with his own patella tendon or hamstring. those are all surgeries of the past. plus by not doing those methods he doesnt have to heal from a 2nd spot. for professional athletes i would say recovery is 6-8 months

his knee they did surgery for is actually gonna be stronger in the long run than the one thats healthy. a tendon is a lot stronger then a ligament
no he definitely had a patellar tendon graft from his own knee. read what i said above about my experience . not saying it'll happen to him, but it's not invincible.

Dr. Brian Cole, the Bulls’ team physician, performed the ACL surgery using an autograft from Rose’s patellar tendon, a commonly used procedure on young athletes. Rose also received a platelet rich plasma blood, which helps stimulate and speed healing.

He will come back 100% as long as he lets those other injuries heal. Hes been getting advice from tony allen who had the same procedure done. Bx fears Rose that much that they are hoping surgery fu*ks him up more. Ya'll disgust me. If he had this sh*t it college, yall wouldnt say sh*t like with rg3

*raises hand* lol

it takes a few hours from what i recall (hard to tell because you're unconscious lol) and they usually keep you overnight. he had a patellar tendon graft to replace it which is what i did for both of mine. other options are a hamstring graft or an ACL from a dead donor. there are pros and cons. i think it's easier to rehab with a patellar tendon graft vs. a hamstring, but if you don't strengthen it, you can get patellar tendinitis, which happened to me. he also received PRP to help heal.
They don't take the ACL from a cadaver, they take the Achilles tendon, which is much stronger.

But the way that they freeze and clean the Allografts also do damage to the muscle tissue and make it likely to be weaker.

The way my Dr explained it to me was for someone young and physically active the best way to go is the Patella as it is generally the strongest. He said he usually recommends Allografts for people in their 30's/40's that aren't as physically active.

There's also a type of graft that's gaining popularity over in Europe where they take synthetic fiber and attach it to each end of the ACL tear. It's pretty crazy the recovery time is cut down by 2/3. It's pretty new though so the long term stability isn't really known but it wouldn't surprise me to see athletes start electing to get that and then getting an Allograft after their careers are over.

Rose missed 27 games and the Bulls still finished with the best record in the league. Rose is overrated. His MVP is fraudulent.
