There's no right or wrong way to build a successful competitive basketball team. This argument is retarded.

Wrong = Bobcats.

Umm. That's exactly why you will loose because you don't have any superstars. Name one team that ever one a NBA championship without one superstar. Grainger is good but he's no superstar. Also I can name you like 5 off top that had multiple superstars. No one complained then. Shut up. Suit up. And play ball. Then go home sad Hibbert.
Pistons had a supestar? I'm not gonna go too far back tho cause you kinda sound 12-ish.

Wrong = Bobcats.

gotta disagree
the right way=smart draft picks, smart trades, smart fa signings for players that fill a specific role on a team, go through the growing pains, learn from your loses, and each year get better (good example okc)

the way lebron and miami heat doing it=2 already established superstars and 1 all star getting together to form a superteam, lebron and bosh taking the easy coward way to try and win the chip is weak and real hoops heads dont respect that sh*t

look at the current bulls and okc squads, do your homework and see how they built their squad from the bottom and slowly came up, now thats the real respectable way to build your squad

OKC just stockpiled top 5 picks by tanking with no remorse to fu*k over seattle and help them move. actually that's the exact wrong way to build your team.

you're basically saying if you want to win you have to have the good fortune of being blessed with smart management and lucky drafts. if you make a power move to build your own team, that's wrong.

Why is hibbert still upset about "the decision" 1 year later? In the end players are trying to win championships (besides boozer) so if you can manage your cap space properly and sign superstars then more props to you for taking that leap. If the pacers could snag a superstar they would. They're trying to act like they are a blue collar team by choice when they are one by default At least wait until you win the series to talk sh*t as of now you've done nothing but place 3rd with the 4th-8th had injuries all year and beat a team without it's best player in the 1st round

man dont play dumb mayne, i respect every poster on here but you dam well you build a franchise by the gm's and people in charge making smart moves and over time you build your way to the top
lets take the old bulls for example
mj-draft pick
scottie pippen-draft day trade so basically a bulls draft pick
horace grant-draft pick
over time mj and pip work their way to superstar status, grant a lower level 1 time all star and slowly over time management built their team around these 3 guys, with smart fa signings and other smart draft picks and built a championship team but this took years to build and when they finally got to the top, it was respected and done the right way

its no comparison to the shortcuts and easy way miami is trying to do, thats why nobody likes them or respects them
that would be like mj back in the day joining up with isiah thomas and the bad boys pistons because they were kicking his a.ss every year and mj just wanted the easy way to a ring, but no mj had heart and guts and so he sucked it up and even in defeat each year the team got better and better until he worked his way to the top and won

so you're saying because that's how some teams did it, that's how everything has to do it? the celtics big 3 all strong armed their way into forming that team. kobe was demanding a trade the summer before they acquired gasol and went to the finals.

do you think it was easy for the heat organization to ask wade to sacrifice the best years of his career while they deliberately made no effort not to put any talent around him so we could have cap room in 2010? you think that's easier than just tanking so you can leave seattle with a bunch of high draft picks?

you're brainwashed if you think what the thunder franchise did to get where they are is exemplary or a model for other teams, let alone better than miami. OKC represents everything wrong with the way teams take advantage of cities and game the system to tank with no intentions of being competitive for years on end. let the players pull the strings instead of the guys in suits upstairs and suddenly that's a problem.

im talking about how okc built their squad, i could care less about the media relations crap that went on behind the scenes in seattle, im talking about how they built their squad on the court, smart draft picks, smart trades, smart fa signings and over time built there way to the top

so you're cool with being deliberately anti-competitive for years just to stockpile draftpicks. good teams can be built as long as it was GMs who did it and players didn't have any say in the matter? why the fu*k would you care?

lol when did they lose games on purpose?? they lost cause they didnt have enought talent at the time and they made smart choices for draft picks, teams like the wizards stay sucking cuase they make bad draft picks, and you know one superstar (lbj) who didnt have enough guts to suck it up (after he had the best record in the league for two straight years) joining up with another top 5 superstar and another all star is the easy way and the gutless coward way to try and win
what did ya boy lbj say in that sports illustrated interview "i aint going championship chasing" and then he goes does it?? just saying

their management traded ray and just cleared out the roster because they wanted to move from seattle. they were intentionally inept and were rewarded with 3 top 5 picks in a row because of it. the notion that that is somehow "the right way" just because of who is pushing the buttons is ridiculous. the heat didn't win last year and people don't think we'll win this year, so how the fu*k is it so easy?
