you responded...but you really didn't address the comment.....try again:

you must have never really watched Jordan then...its not even close...

not only did mike get biz in the reg season, but he would absolutely TAKE OVER in the playoffs...straight dominate! k!ller instinct. The ball was in his hand EVERY BIG PLAY.

or this one:

what made Jordan so great was not only his stats!

Jordan did not have the greatest stats ever in the league!

Why not compare Lebron...stat by stat to Oscar Rob or someone?

why the obsession with making Lebron out to be Jordan?

as a player, kobe is nowhere on bron's level. he's a one dimensional scorer kobe in his prime = losing 3-1 series leads in the first round

lebron in his prime = MVP awards and deep postseason runs
jordan in his prime = MVP awards and deep postseason runs

as a player, kobe cant compare
now I know this is a joke thread

good laughs though, thanks

and then he would loose and go home until he was 28, and Lebron is 27.

And I'm 28 I saw plenty Jordan he is the greatest player ever age 28-34, cause Lebron is the greatest age 18-27, 18-21, 21-27, however you want to put it, and he has not been the ages of 28-34, but what Jordan did from age 28-34 does make him the greatest of all-time, but Lebron is the best player since him, and has accomplished and done more age 18-27, 18-21, 21-27 however u want to put it, live with it.

I'd say he is statistically, right now, at his pace, the best player ever, statistically. I will never discount the talent he has, probably most freakish athlete I have seen since Bo Jackson. But in order for him to move into MJ status, got to bring home titles. If we talking just playing basketball and stuffing stats, Bron will eventually blow MJ's records away, but if we are talking full body of work, right now, MJ, and it's not even close. But, LeBron still has about 5 more years of 27,7,7 left in him, so the potential for what he can do by 2016-2017 when he approaches 30 is still in the air.

Got to bring home titles with an "s"

Jordan, Lebron, Larry Bird, Oscar Robinson, and Wilt Chamberlin*, have the greatest numbers ever and Jordan is #1, I know you see the asterisk mark next to Wilt.

One thing you need to know is all that matters to business man which I am is averages and percentages.

I was actually referencing their stats, but Jordan won 100% of his finals appearances once he was 28 years old the @ any earlier age he was not even able to make it, lets see how many Lebron loses from now @ age 27 and also 28 and beyond, when u are 22 and 26 and you are in a N.B.A. finals and the leader of the team and loose Jordan himself who is the greatest of all time could not knock you for that cause he could not even accomplish an appearance @ those ages, Live with it.

for god sakes jordan is the g.o.a.t ..lebron isn't the type of player he is simply because he's not a closer/proven winner like jordan..during his 9 years in the league, he's failed horribly time and time again..the comparison fails when talking about kobe because simply kobe isn't a better player than jordan or lebron...he's a proven closer/winner but not a better overall basketball player than the two..so give it a rest.JORDAN=GREATEST OF ALL TIME IN THE NBA, PERIOD.

probably one of the most ignorant statements on bx. first you say wilt played against a bunch of midgets and whiteboys. this is the list of some of the players above 6'9" he played against not including russell:
Walter Dukes (7'0", 220 lbs.)
Swede Halbrook (7'3, 235 lbs.)
Tom Boerwinkle (7'0", 265 lbs.)
Bob Lanier (6'11", 265 lbs.)
Darrall Imhoff (6'10", 220 lbs.)
Otto Moore (6'11", 210 lbs.)
Sam Lacey (6'10", 235 lbs.)
George Johnson (6'11", 245 lbs.)
Paul Ruffner (6'10", 230 lbs.)
d!ck Cunningham (6'10", 245 lbs.)
Walt Bellamy (6'11", 225 lbs.)
Leroy Ellis (6'10", 210 lbs.)
Nate Thurmond (6'11", 235 lbs.)
Mel Counts (7'0", 235 lbs.)
Nate Bowman (6'10", 230 lbs.)
Clyde Lee (6'10", 210 lbs.)
Walt Wesley (6'11", 230 lbs.)
Henry Akin (6'10", 225 lbs.)
Hank Finkel (7'0", 240 lbs.)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (7'2", 225 lbs.)
Neal Walk (6'10", 220 lbs.)
Elmore Smith (7'0", 250 lbs.)
Jim McDaniels (6'11", 230 lbs.)
LaRue Martin (6'11", 215 lbs.)
Tom Riker (6'10", 225 lbs.)
Conrad Dierking (6'9", 225 lbs.)
Johnny “Red” Kerr (6'9", 230 lbs.)
Bob Pettit (6'9", 220 lbs.)
Spencer Haywood (6'9", 230 lbs.)
Rick Roberson (6'9", 230 lbs.)
Luke Jackson (6'9", 240 lbs.)
Duke Hogue (6'9," 240 lbs.)
Zelmo Beaty (6'9", 230 lbs.)
Len Chappell (6'9", 240 lbs.)
Elvin Hayes (6'9", 235 lbs.)
Hub Reed (6'9", 220 lbs.)

you obviously know nothing about the history of the league. there were less teams so teams had to play against bill russell, jerry west, elgin baylor, oscar robertson, kareem abdul jabbar as many as 14 times a year in the regular season. look at what chamberlian did statistcally against some would say the greatest defensive player of all time in russell
in 142 matchups, which is insane, he averaged 28.7ppg and 28.7 rpg. he scored 62 against russ and the celtics and went over 50 another 6 times. he has the nba record for 55 boards in a game which he also did against the celtics and russell.

in 11 meetings against jabbar, when he was past his prime and had knee surgery done before modern medicine some of those meetings occurred he averaged 22.8 ppg and 17.6 rebounds.

he also led the leagued in a.ssists as a center one year and came third in another. that's pretty remarkable.

keep in mind they didn't keep track of blocks either where wilt did this when he was past his prime

you don't understand how to put things in historical context either. the players of the past didn't have the nutrition, training, or the amenities that the modern players enjoy. if micheal, lebron, kobe or any of those guys grew up in that day and age they wouldn't be as good as they are now either. wilt and all those other players games would benefit from today's modern age. and also micheal, magic, kareem, lebron, all took part of their games from players of the past and benefitted from coming after. i'll admit that today's nba is better as far as players but wilt absolutely dominated his era. even if you took away 20% of player production from that era to account for today's game his career averages would still have career averages of 24 ppg 18.32 rpg (which would consequently still be the highest career average for rebounds of all time). he'd still be averaging more than 5 more rebounds than dwight howard would be.

and even though wilt grew up in an age before protein shakes and modern nutrition he still had a 40 inch vert (he has a high jump personal record of 6'6.75") and benched 500 pounds. that's 50 pounds more than shaq was able to do. given wilt's frame and the benefits of today's game, is there any question he would've been even more athletic and stronger? he was the best athlete of his day in any sport and would arguably still be the best athlete if he played today, especially considering his size of 7'1" with a standing reaching of 9'6".

so wilt, dominated the lesser competition, but the competition was much better than you try to make it seem; especially considering he played against the best players more often. kobe and bron have only matched up less than 20 times in their career. wilt and russell 142 times. i doubt you have ever even took the time to watch any games from those era. it was a different game but don't take away from the legends who paved away for today's players. it's ignorant and disrespectful.

no one leading the league in PER and win shares consistently at a high level since michael jordan. thats the point the writer was trying to make and stephen a/skip was debating it.

:hmm: :hmm: :iagree: no one can ever argue that kobe is a better PLAYER than lebron so stop that. he's the heir to jordan and has the potential to pass him.
who cares man? you're not him. your relationship with him does not extend past exceptional athlete and obsessive fan. it's time to find other things to do.
