Rapper's publicist sent me this:

SEE IT:

Yes, you did read the subject line correctly.

Quite possibly the most underrated MC in the underground music scene, Adair Lion is a talented rapper that has been blazing a trail with his unique style and look since the release of his first music video in March of last year. Throughout his rookie campaign he quickly become a favorite amongst hip-hop bloggers ( ) while simultaneously capturing radio audiences in Texas and snatching two most requested songs on Amarillo Texas KQIZ-FM 93.1 The Beat. Since his debut he's collaborated with Bizzy Bone, performed all over Texas including at SXSW and will very likely be circulated around the world with his controversial video/song "Ben."

"Ben" is an emotional song that advocates for an issue that most hip-hop artist would stay miles away from... the acceptance of gays.

The smooth voice of a young Michael Jackson is masterfully sampled for the chorus of this track, while Adair adds three full verses of heart felt 16's.

"Ben" is Adair's controversial first single off of his project titled "Michael & Me," an album that pays homage to the late great Michael Jackson. The release of "Michael & Me" will be on June 25, 2012 which marks the third anniversary of his death.

Adair feels that hip-hop should be more accepting toward the gay community and believes that this song will "open eyes, change opinions and most importantly alter the lives of those who contemplate suicide."

The buzz surrounding the project has been electric but the magnitude of this song is indescribable. This song is not just a good song, it's one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time. No joke.

It is with great pride that we share this music video directly to you.

This is HISTORY.

Thanks for being a part.

Sincerely,

Above The Notes Staff

So explain then? I mean if this is JUST about having an open mind, I respect and appreciate everybody on their own merits. But I don't have to adopt some asinine persona to do so. Just learn how to respect peoples choices, even if you don't agree. I don't believe in homos3xuality, but I don't wanna see them dead or hurt because of it. It's called human decency. Political correctness got mafukkas afraid of the truth outchea.
But they are hurt. They are part of the human race just wanting to be accepted and feel like they are part of the human race like everyone else but they are talked about and discriminated against as if they were dogs. The word f*g and homo are only powerful because of the persons intention behind it. Just like n*gga. It definitely has to stop it's almost a form of segregation. But its definitely REGRESSION. Humans have to learn to come together as ONE and Lil B embraces and displays this message in a harmless way.

shut the fu*k up. you n*ggas act like you can't get your message out without pretending to be gay for attention. tupac, ice cube, jay, nas, common, chuck d, etc never had to play f*ggot to have a message. either these young n*ggas is lost or they don't understand the whole respect thing. nothing respectable about calling yourself a f*g if you supposedly "aren't". how the hell u tellin people to be genuine when u fakin ur s3xual orientation? these dudes messages aren't even good, your every day street rapper got better sh*t than these n*ggas
None of them needed to. They come from a time where you had to show that you were dope to even get a little buzz. Now, you can't just be dope.

fu*k f*g rap.

He isn't saying that he is a homos3xual. He's trying to prove a point that words only mean what the subject makes them to mean. People put hate behind the word f*g and homo. Just like some people put hate behind the word n*gga. But we took it and made it mean something totally different didn't we. Lil B is doing the same for homos3xuals with the word f*g and homo. It is revolutionary however you look at and benefits a group of people who have been oppressed.

lil b deconstructed the power of words thru a variation of tactics

he grabbed the attention of the people, shocked the fu*k out of them, and showed that words have the power in which the user and the people give them

which in turn frees minds from judgement and compartmentalization

which is basically freedom from everything

so lil b yes...this is why we say he is revolutionary

im gay is a classic album if u can move past the stigma of the album title

Lil B does not conform

People these days care too much about what others think

Simple concept, but revolutionary at the same time
