Scientist/doctors still can't explain it work. All they said was, the asians think the reason a person get sick is because their body fail to dispose itself of all of its toxins. So what you do is, take a coin, rub a hot ointment on it like bengay, asians use tiger balmor monkey balm, something with a heat sensation and you repeatedly rub your chest, back and arms with it til it turns red. The idea is, the heat and the friction of the coin opens up your pores and let your body breathe. Word for word, he translation of it is called "rubbing the wind."
You use the coin to "rub" more like scrape your body so it can breathe.
Till this day doctors are amazed at the population of asians that still practice this. They swear up and down that it doesn't work, and either its a)placebo, tricking your body to feeling better or b) you experience so much pain from the home treatment that you no longer feel the pains of feeling sick.
I'll take nyquil or dayquil but after 2 days if I'm.still feeling like sh*t, im going in.
Western medicine has been wrong about asian remedies before, just because they can't prove why it works, doesnt mean it doesn't work.
I wait about a week with taking normal medicine. If that sh*t don't help, that's when I take the plunge. sh*t hurts, so I try to avoid it. Or if I know I can't be sick cuz of some event I got to be at, I'll go ahead and do it so I can get better quicker.
