EVERY solo album KanYe released IS a classic. E-thugs, self proclaimed gangstaz, etc.: Just because he didn't consider you when he released 808's & Heartbreak doesn't mean it wasn't a classic album...And just because he used autotune doesn't mean its not a classic album. Kanye didn't stop at Graduation. Musically K.West>_______ (your fav rapper).
That's an opinion brah. Just like you disagree with those who don't like that 808's sh*t. Calling n*ggas e-thugs and gangsters has nothing to do with that music being a.ss to anybody. Just like I like 50 Cent's last two albums. n*ggas would disagree, but that's my opinion. Have your opinion but just because you have one doesn't make it the gospel brah.

Kanye my favorite artist and has probably had the greatest influence on the look, feel and sound of hip hop since the 2000s and who knows how long it will remain like this. His catalog is probably undeniably the best and most consistent, 3 classics: College Dropout, Late Reg, Dark Fantasy

But yea, as far as having it on lock, Other n*ggas had it more on lock. Em, 50, Jay, Nelly, Diddy, Pharell, Ludacris etc. Them n*ggas were responsible for expanding rap beyond the booth and building empires. Musically NO ONE is seeing Yeezy but he only had from like 06 on, on kinda smash

if you guys are seriously saying 50 and Nelly you need to read through this thread, they had no effect on hip hop except selling more than nearly everyone and putting some of their crew on. dudes could go double diamond and not effect hip hop in the slightest

In terms of

Sales : Eminem
Production: Neptunes
Impact : 50 Cent/Jay-Z/Wayne
A little bit of each: Kanye
Disagree. Neptune where huge yes but they didn't work with as many artists at Kanye did. And of course Eminem dominated every genre in sales. and 50 was huge in the early 2000s hes complelty irrelivant after 2007. Than Wayne came along in 2007 and really had a massive impacts with Carter 2 and than the carter 3. Kanye was too broad with artists to say that neptunes are ahead of him.

The Neptunes produced for a more diverse group of people than Kanye. They didn't win Producer of the Decade for no reason.
They went from 504 Boyz to Britney Spears, Sade, N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys, made Justin Timberlake relevant as a solo artist, Beenie Man, Guru, Ludacris, Mystikal, Babyface, Jay-Z, Kelis, No Doubt, Sean Paul, Papa Roach, Kenna, The (motherf#cking) Rolling Stones, etc. Who else can boost a discography like that.

Without reading the responses in this thread I can safely say that he in fact did not dominate the 2000's, Eminem did. I read a response where some poster said, Kanye>>>>> Em in terms of lyricism.... that's where I had to shake my head and I felt like reading no further. Outlandish things can be said, but when you say that you are automatically erased from any sort of conversation, the only thing Kanye has over Em is production, but that's it, you guys could fool yourselves how many times you want.

Truth on the Neptunes

Ye's had an incredibly big impact on hip-hop in the past 10 years, he wasn't always 808s/WTT, he used to be a real legit mc that spoke on real things without sounding retarded.

I miss that guy.

I'll always be a fan of ye because he's one of the few mainstream rappers/producers that still put out quality hip hop sh*t

Listen to any hip hop radio station and the only sh*t that isnt hip-pop is Kanye's sh*t

speaking of which, FLo-rida and pit bull need to go die somewhere
