Does it really matter if he had notable beats outside his camp? i don't get why you bringing that up....he had great beats on his albums and G Units...Kanye produces most of his beats for himself, Jay-Z n Common...and couple of beats for some people here and there... Isn't Common on GOOD Music? Kanye wasn't a rapper until 2004....and its not like he produced whole albums before that. He had couple of beats on Blueprint n other Jay-Z albums....so stop saying the production was solely on him. Who did Kanye give us that was more bigger than 50 Cent?

Eminem was the biggest rapper ever since he came out up until 2005 when he decided to take a break...and even then when he came back, he was still on top.
I didn't even mention half the beats Kanye produced in this thread, I was just naming notable ones that people probably still listen to, and no Kanye wasn't officially apart of the Roc family until 2004. He was making beats for everyone before that, not just Jay and the rest of Roc-a-fella. I never said Kanye produced every track on The Blueprint, he influenced the direction to the album when Jay stole the beats from Kanye's studio. After Jay rapped over them he bought them from Kanye(originally made for DMX and Ghostface) which would change Jay's entire direction for his next album. Just Blaze and Bink tried to emulate Kanye's beats to match the album's flow.

Check out if you wanna see most the beats Kanye produced from 2000 to 2010. It's MUCH more than Jay-Z and Common. His production has expanded over music much further than Eminem's and changed the entire game up, all Eminem did was try to emulate 2001 styled beats which works for him because it fits his delivery, but don't act like it did much for hip hop.

been saying this for years, Eminem hasn't tried to progress the culture as much as Kanye, which is why IMO his music lack replay value. You here one Eminem album, they are pretty much all similar sounding with the exception of REcovery, which was meh anyways.

Kanye really did own the previous decade, if you take it as a whole.

Eminem dominated with SSLP/MMLP/TES, and that was mostly sales wise, but that long break takes him out of contention.

Jay was/is always in the conversation, but he's more of a over the span of two decades guy; he was like the Kareem to Kanye's Magic, a vet who's still up there but overshadowed by his younger superstar.

Kanye helped popularize a style; he didn't invent sampling or his signature sound but you're naive as fu*k if you don't think he made people wanna emulate it.

He's the only producer that was also a good rapper; and the only good rapper that could be in the argument as one of the best producers ever.

He hasn't released a bad album (yes, including 808's). And even outside of sales most of his albums had an impact.

From 03-05 50 had the biggest impact, but the producer factor wasn't there like it is for Kanye + he fell off towards the end.

Missy Elliot can make a damn good bid for running 2000...waaaay more so than Eminem and even Kanye and Jay-Z

for shame for forgetting about Misdameanor...VIRGINIA ran the 2000's easily actually
Missy, Timbo, The Neptunes, hell we can even go to the streets and underground indies and call out The Clipse, Nottz, The Re-Up Gang as well... man The Common Wealth was everywhere

fu*k sales Eminem is my dude but he did not influence hiphop last decade as much as Kanye did. Eminem went AWOL after Encore and Relapse (somewhat) backfired. TS pretty much hit the nail on the head. kanye put out two classics, arguably 3. influenced tons of other up and coming artists and changed the production game. Yeezus da gawdddd! This is why Kanye is my favorite artist. The man is a creative genius and no one's made music like him.

that's the worlds opinion and you can't really fu*k with that... you can't act like sales have nothing to due with influence its what fu*king drives it...

"The best thing since wrestling. Infesting in your kid's ears and nesting"
His sales have NOTHING to do with raps influence...sorry thats how Hip Hop works...your posted all that good sh*t...and he STILL had no where NEAR the movement the Neptunes, Missy, and Timabaland had....These n*ggas changed the CULTURE bruh...there is NO stat for that...but it's a fact, Who in rap had a bigger crossover appeal than Pharrell? Go ahead...I'll wait....Same goes for Missy...Do NOT post production credits for Eminem when Missy shattered goals and got grammys and nods for her songs, albums, and other peoples albums...when you change a culture and people start to mimick your sound style and image then YOU are the bigger influence and you are the person who's running it..

How many n*ggas knocked off Neptune's beats?...How many knocked off an Eminem beat? (none...it doesn't happen )

How many n*ggas changed a cultures dress code? (You seen the way Marshall dresses?!??)...Made them accept another genre of music that was regarded for "white folks"
I mean damn Timbo and Missy had cats bouncing to Go Go tracks even..

Who was the go to producer or sogwriter to guarentee that smash single or album...It's NEVER been Eminem...

His influence in the 2000 is LIMIITED...He's a dope lyricists but for all his sales he doesn't compete with The Neptunes and Missy Elliot...I mean jesus christ have you seen The Neptunes production credits?!?!?? It's fu*king bannanas! Where you wearing Bapestas before the Neptunes introduced it? Trucker hats? Where you a black kid skateboarding? Did you make tracks that EVERY n*gga made a verse to on their mixtape? Did you help breathe life into Justin Timberlake's solo career?

^^^
The Neptunes did that, Timabaland did that, Missy did that...Not Em and there is NO stat for it.

sh*t Jay-Z even had a bigger influence...But there is no need to list all his accolades...word to Elvis and The Beatles. Selling out concerts in MINUTES MULTIPLE times...Em doesn't like to tour we know... but he wasn't the only one n*ggas was coming to see on the Up in Smoke Tour...that sh*t was RIDDLED with heat from top to bottom...so he can't even claim that one for himself even tho he had a big part to do with it....But Snoop was on fire, as well as Ice Cube and West Side Conneciton, Xzibit, The Dogg Pound, and others besides the fact Dr. Dre was on it as well....That was an All Star tour so of course it did the numbers it did...It was NOT a Eminem tour...But we know how Jay-Z tours and conerts go now don't we? n*ggas got his own color for a car made by Chevy and damn near tanked the BMW X5 for n*ggas in the hood hahaha...

So what Em was dubbed best rapper alive by Vibe...it's Vibe...Notice how he wasn't dubbed that by The Source or XXL...There is a REASON for that...and we're not even gonna get on the Rolling Stone, The Grammys are bullsh*t (well...atleast for hip hop they are...that's also a known fact )

Em is a very talented cat...I love the dude honestly...he's hated on for no reason by alot of folks...But to say HE owned the 2000's?...nah Bruh...he had his moments..but over a 10 year period??? He falls a bit short...If he never went into hiatus maybe...but he did so there it is.

^^^
Oh yeah I don't mean to sound like a d!ck...I curse alot and sh*t when I talk and type...

what's the point of naming the number of companies Eminem owns and how many people think he's the best ever? this is a thread explaining how much Kanye contributed, influenced, and impacted hip hop. also no one cares about 90% of those beats, the beats i posted are from notable albums that still get play. on top of that he should get minus points for ruining that 2pac album. and don't even try to bring up Grammy's in a Kanye thread.... you have to include his label to even get close to Kanye's impact. If you wanna do that then Roc-a-fella has been running rap since 98 with Jay, Kanye, Cam, Juelz, and the rest of Dipset having hits all over the place

Eminem only ran rap from 2000 to 2003, then he dropped a garbage a.ss LP and faded away to pills. Even then what he did for hip hop wasn't much, just a bunch of people calling him the best. Kanye shifted the direction of hip hop more than one time last decade and contributed to several classic albums that people still play. No one gives a sh*t about Cashis or whoever Eminem composed beats to.

noone cares about Cashis, but people care about garbage a.ss Big Sean

Kanye shifted the direction of hiphop and now its filled with f*ggots. and thats a good thing to you huh?
All Big Sean is good for his commercial hits, I didn't even have to bring him up in this thread because Kanye's influence surpasses his entire existence. If you consider most conscious rappers like Lupe Fiasco, Blu, Fashawn, J. Cole, Big KRIT, XV, Charles Hamilton, etc. to be f*ggots then I guess so, Kanye also helped dudes like Drake make it to the top and even if you don't like that you can't dismiss his impact.

Charles Hamilton is definitely a f*g, who the fu*k is XV

who had more of an impact 50 or Drake?

I guess if you wanna throw list out there I can throw out Royce,Obie Trice,50 Cent,D-12 (devils night is classic) Elzhi. Any one from detroit had a hand from Eminem.

Also people say Em ran 2000-2003. Like Recovery didn't just sell 4+ million
that's just an expanded list of who was influenced by Kanye

Elzhi he came out BEFORE Eminem and got his name out because of Slum Village, not Eminem

I'm not saying Drake was bigger than 50 but he's just another name Kanye influenced and he just happens to be one of if not the biggest rapper out right now
