That "pure point guard" talk tho is nonsense :lachen001:

CP3 and Deron Williams have both averaged 20 and 10 before and I never hear that pure point guard excuse from them

That is an excuse for Rondo's incapability to be a scorer thus why other PG's are above him in best PG debates

Russy averaged 8 a.ssist last year I know he ain't the best passer but like god damn that's good enough
1. CP3 & Deron are great passers along with being great scorers, have great bball IQ & have good offensive & defensive awareness.

2. Rondo can be a scorer but not to the point where he has to be Westbrook night in, night out. There's a difference between choosing not to score & not being able to score. I know Junior said it already but it's plain as day what he's capable of doing. I guess those 20, 30 point games where he constantly went to the rack time & time again never existed.

3. Russy averaged 8 a.ssists but how did he get those a.ssists? By kick outs & making the obvious good passes.

westbrooke the better/more explosive Player
but if we're talking about playoff playmakers i wouldn't be comfortable knowing that i could draw up a play for my star scorer and my PG would feel throw all that out the window and try to create his own shot on the inbound
give me the point god

If I'm starting a team and the first player I pick is the PG I'm going with russy. I'm not 100% I'll have scorers on the squad, & Rondo just wouldn't be useful in that situation. With Westbrook you get a player would actually work beautifully in a situation where the players around him are 5-10 10-15ppg scorers (09' Cleveland & Knicks) it's actually the only situation where he works as an a.sset. (ie: Derrick Rose in CHI)

also it has been mentioned a couple times, but Rondo's on a different level when he's in the playoffs. I think he has more triple doubles in his playoff career than in his regular season career, that alone says it. 82 regular season games to what 18 depending on the year playoff games? come on

dope sneaks in your avy:agreement6:

And thank you for being the first person who likes Westbrook, to acknowledge the fact that Rondo should always be able to have NBA talent round him. People acting as if Rondo gonna get stuck with NBDL players the Big 3 didn't make Rondo he been ready to be a floor general since he was drafted. Any team he plays for would get significantly better due to HIM being on the floor. Fact

exactly. Rondo would average 15 dimes per easy with OKC.

Westbrook style of play is gonna cost the Thunder again this year.
^ straight up

westbrook is iverson 2.0 but westbrook has to play PG whereas A.I. played SG

as a PG, your aim should not be averaging 20+ ppg etc. if your team's leading scorer already does that

:emwhoa:

westbrook's stats may mimic derrick rose's... but derrick rose is the leader of his team. westbrook is the #2 man on his team.

only thing westbrick does better than rondo is score and thats cuz he has a better shot other than that rondo >>>>

rondo 13/11/5 well say the 11 asts = 22 points even tho some of those are 3s
westbrick 24/5/4 5asts = 10 points

rondo accounts for 35pts
westbrick 34pts

n*gga has kd and harden and cant get more than 5asts

Big deal.........

Chalmers has Bron and Wade how many a.ssist does he avg

Even going back in history Fisher had Shaq and Kobe how many a.ssist did he avg

Many may not get the point, but my point is just because you have great talent around you and you play the point does any mean its going to equate to high a.ssist.

OKC to me seems to be an isolation team also which dictate a.ssist numbers.

And while eveyone is quick to point out how a scoring pg has not won a ring (even tho wrong tony parker) when was the last time a top a.ssist guy had won a ring before Kidd last season?

Say what you will but rondo proved himself in the playoffs leading a past prime big 3 to the finals.

What did westbrook do in the playoffs but shoot alot (had some good moments in there tho) make bad decisions, and stir up drama amongst himself, Durant, and coach Brooks?
