not to make light of the situation .. but this is not the first incident of the exact same typein florida. why all a sudden a major deal with everyone? no one from FLA remembers this happened a couple years ago? I think it must be stopped, but this is nothing new.

There's nothing wrong with using your fame to bring a social issue to light.
I didn't say anything was wrong with it. But face it, this issue has gotten national attention because it's become a trendy topic. The truth is some of these stars and many people will still believe in stereotypes and other people will suffer. Does Wade and Bron make it a regular thing to f!ght against this in general? And I'm not just talking about issues blown up by the media, I mean in general

^And Heat fans this is the reason why people don't respect the fan base.
Well we don't like the knicks fanbase either but he's clearly a Lebron fan. :dancingcool:

So next time a black guy k!lls a white guy lebron & wade are gonna shout out the white guy right?

al sharpton and jesse jackson are gonna be outraged and demand justice right?

why has it become acceptable for all of this racism to exist like this?

i like when athletes get involved with social issues. props to bron and wade. i wish athletes would take a page from ali's book and get more involved more often.
I wish so too. Use there fame to touch on social issues. Athletes these days are quick to co-sign a rapper when theyre dropping a new album but shy away from issues that affect us as people. Hats off to Wade, Bron and the rest of them voicing their opinions on this. We need this more often

I remember when I was in high school and was getting picked up because my parents and I were leaving to go on a trip that evening. I'd have to wait an hour so I told them to pick me up in front of Wal-Mart so I can hang around and check our their video games, play with the blood pressure machine, etc.

This was after basketball practice so I was wearing track pants and a hoodie with the hood up and a backpack. Now, bear in mind that I'm white as fu*k and on any regular circumstance look like the biggest mark imaginable but for some reason the security guard saw me as a goon. This is a pretty nice neighbourhood so I guess anyone wearing one is a threat. I noticed him following me from a distance, so I moved from department to department to see if he was still there and--sure enough--there he was.

It was nearly time for me to leave so I walked to the front of the store where he stood arms folded and asked me to show him the contents of my bag. I took out my books and damn near turned it inside out to appease him. He said I could go with the smarmiest expression I've ever seen and since then I've made it a point to never wear the hood on my sweater. I've never felt for villainized than that day. What happened to Trayvon is a travesty and happens everywhere.
