I hate to be the local bx pre-med student but core injuries restrict in you a lot of ways especially with your mobility. He wasn't this defensive stout to begin with and with the injury it'll take a while for his body to adjust to the every day rigors of basketball - the compressed season only worsens it.
Your core is everything and without it you're essentially at affect to the offensive player because your reactions will always be a behind the proverbial nba curve.
Moral of the story: He can play better and he will with a full offseason of further core strengthening under his belt.
No training camps, coming into the season 10-15 pounds pudgier, injuries = Just bad luck overall
He'll def. come back stronger & healthier next year :dancingcool:
