I heard Philbin was one of the people that pulled the trigger on the B. Marsh trade. In the west coast offense you dont need an alpha receiver. i disagree, bess/hartline/gates/r.wallace/ im missing someone else too and i believe they draft a WR also. This draft is deep as fu*k in recievers.
I know he was and I know you don't need an alpha WR in the WCO.
I'm just saying Seattle's WR core is better than what we have right now + Lynch.
They will draft some good WRs in the draft no doubt since its very deep but right now the only WRs who could be reliable are Bess and Hartline. Gates and Wallace are inexperienced. Wallace is built like Marshall but still haven't seen enough of him to be sold. Gates was WAY underused last season as well so he'll have something to prove.
Im hoping for WRs like - Streeter, Toon, Wright, Sanu, T.Y. Hilton, McNutt.
We will be fine if that happens. Remember Smith is a glorified game manager. Every now and then he will fool you into thinking hes not but essentially he is. Also there is other options to be had. David Garrard is sitting at home somewhere. Josh Johnson would be a good replacement as well.
Garrard is who you're ok with over Smith
