Who Do You Respect More: 50 Cent or Jay-Z??

50 Cent gets a lot of hate on this site, and is that because he still hasn't lived up to his pre-2002 expectations (when he released those classic albums 'Power Of The Dollar' & Get Rich or Die Tryin').

Now in Hip-Hop/Rap, admittedly we love a gangster rapper, which in the early days 50 Cent was, he was the man! Unlike rappers of today, 50 Cent was never afraid to speak out about & had a real direct approach in any competetive situation (beef)...but did that 'gangster' in him have a opposite affect to the listeners...???

--------------------------------------------------------------

Jay-Z is a lyrical king, he's witty with his words and has such a significant presence in his music....but why?? He isn't the most lyrical rapper out, so why is he so loved & less-hated unlike 50 Cent and other rappers??

Is it because he established 'Roc-A-Fella'...? Then again, was it even Jay-Z that made Roc-A-Fella' that label/brand it was (props to Dame Dash).

Or is it that simply that Jay-Z has been around for so long that over the years the listeners have accepted him as the GOAT, due to the number of albu i ms he has sold & the quality of this albums...??

Why do you respect these rappers & who do you respect more from the two??

every new artist to this day still uses 50 cent's marketing tactics thats a major influence

mixtapes, behind the scenes videos (the New breed dvd sold 1 million copies), using mixtape songs as singles, sellling mixtapes a retail stores. etc

50 was the first artist to chart on billboard off mixtapes

You have to respect Jayz because he's been in the game operating at a high level for damn near 20 years.(1996-present) from his solo debut to now.

50-cent was just a clown that had a run from (2003-2007) and then fell off.

JayZ has timeless records and classic albums, he carries himself with dignity and represents the culture in a respectable fashion.

50-Cent was just a gimmick who simply used rap music to get rich and never showed any growth in his music or improvement in skills, his career was one quick downward spiral.

JayZ is one of the Goats of the culture and you have to respect his achievements and longevity.

Ok that's your opinion, and that's fine.

Jay-Z is a better rapper (better lyricist) than 50 Cent, and probably has more concepts in his music. But 50 Cent isn't necessarily a bad rapper compared to a lot of other rappers than many people on this site listen to....

As from a business-man point of view, i would have to hand that one to 50 Cent. He has achieved so much in a reletively short space of time...
But not only that, 50 Cent's work-ethic is peak! I also believe 50 Cent is more business-savy than Jay-Z from the way he portrays himself in interviews etc...

I like both rappers, but i have to give my respect to 50 Cent....I respect the music he makes, his gangsta, and his business-sense.

50 Cent is the definition of achieving that 'American Dream'....and he done it without really changing his persona too much....now that's why i think he gets hated on....and even more crucial i feel a lot of that hate is from bitter-ness & envy.

50 Cent currently has the #1 most added song on urban radio 10 years later and is still making huge business moves he may have fallen off a bit bit but he landed in the money pit.

You sound like a lover....I guess you want to have a baby by 50 and become a millionair.

JayZ is a superb business-man and a far better business man than 50-Cent which is why JayZ's net worth and and annual gross is bigger than 50-Cent.

JayZ has Roc Nation and his artists Kanye West & J. Cole bring him Gold and Platinum plaques while 50-Cent is signing Pauly D from Jersy Shore and Shawty Lo....that's their contribution to HipHop.

JayZ made 37 million in 2010 and topped the Forbes list while 50-Cent made 6 million in a tie with Rick Ross.

Lord knows how much cake JayZ made in 2011 bit when the list drops it will be crazy because of his touring and record sales along with his other endeavors.

50-cents brand is crumbling, G-unit is a toxic name weather it's on clothes or music, people don't want to support it which is why he can't release an album.

I respect how they both came up in the game, and business wise they both done good.

50 gets more of my respect. Reason being is I feel he is way more honest than Jay. With 50 you know where you stand, with Jay you dont know sh*t.
50 the type of n*gga that will tell you fu*k you n*gga im kicking you out the house and tell you why, while jay will just leave the house and wont tell you what the fu*k is going on!
