the funny thing is when Deron Williams was crossing Lin on the other end he wasnt going anywhere, Lin was still with him

no matter how quick he was, Lin was right there

thats some impressive defensive right there
That's because he was smart (Harvard grad.) People underrate intelligence in sports way too much. But honestly in Pro Sports, it's a huge advantage because if you're in the pros, you're at least athletic enough to keep up. Put high intelligence with that, and you can be where you need to be before anyone else just off smarts, that's how Rodman said he became one of the best rebounders ever. He knew where to go when the ball was going towards the rim. He used his brain to figure it out, get in position and even though he wasn't the biggest, couldn't jump the highest, strongest etc. he always got it because of his grasp of physics (how matter responds.)

Look at the Pats and Colts, great teams for the past decade. Why? They weren't faster, stronger, bigger... they were smarter.

This is why on the basketball court I shock everyone during pick up games. While we're shooting around and when they watch me from afar dribbling I'm not flashy at all, I seem slower, less athletic but when it comes down to it, I'm enough of all those but I use my intelligence to completely wave the game in my favor. First and foremost, my defense is unrelenting. I make it a point to not leave my guy open ever, I always challenge his shots, I always stay disciplined and never bite on crossovers or head fakes, I know angles and how to get there to totally fu*k up your game. I also have a good eye hand coordination so I know when someone is about to shoot and I get tons of blocks just off that alone. I consistently get rebounds, make the right pass, use angles and momentum to get open and cut towards the basket for the easy lay in... know my hot spots for shooting. By the end of the game dude's are telling me, "damn man... I had no idea you played like that... I couldn't get open against you to save my life what the fu*k... and some of those shots you were making..."

That's also because people are too lazy to play defense in pickup games. It's all about scoring and looking cool

I'm not saying I look like a nerd out there though, I just don't look great, I appear average to the untrained eye. Because they can't see my intelligence. So it's always a huge shock to people who never played with me when I ball the fu*k out on them.

Lin has potential. I just love how much heart the dude has. He was really gettin' into that game and they wouldn't have beat the Nets if he didn't pull through in the fourth quarter like that. :smokin: I'll keep my eye on him.

From what I can see his crossover is basic and his jumpshot is broken. Deron was moving a step slow or something....Everyone has a good game eventually

The most impressive part about his game was that he did what he did against one of the best PG's in the game in Deron Williams. The Knicks haven't had such solid fundamental play at the PG position since Billups' brief stint and Felton....

Jeremy Lin is a real PG. He had D.Will out there skating on life support. Hopefully TD gets no playing time. Dude is a bum.

after that game, Lin never has to pay for shrimp fried rice in NY ever again
