So are we gonna act like labels don't tell their artists to sell out and make dumbed down music that sells instead of making music from the heart. :cool-smiley-009:

So we're gonna act like it's only white kids listening to Wacka Flacka, Gucci Mane, OJ, Young Money, and all that other garbage..... okay...
their most hardcore fans are indeed white kids who desperately want to be black and think they're "hard" so they overcompensate for their crackerness by listening to the most **** inducing music possible.

100% TRUTH.

But what u need to understand is Face is a wannabe New Yorker, so he doesn't respect southern rap. U and others may think I'm wrong for sayin that, but it's is what it is. He's proven it time after time. Dude wears Yankee hats more than a New York rapper.

Bad enuff he didn't have a southern rapper in his top 5 doa, but he finished it off by sayin u can't put anybody from the south in it. lol. Talk about hating the south. So this is clearly a guy that ride for New York rap. So it's no surprise he has COMPLETELY ignored the black power from the south that has overpowered a industry that paid us no mind for YEARS on top of YEARS. He simply wishes sh*t would've stayed the way it was back in the the early 90s and the mid 90s, when southern style rap didn't have much of a chance of making it on the big stage.
he from jersey what you expect

This is a good point. You'd think with all the money and power that they woulda got the white devils out of there but instead they just popped bottles.

There a few smart ones Jay-Z is doing pretty well for himself.

and this aint nuthin new. if u wanna sh*t on face for his opinion, then sh*t on Michael Jackson too bcause he even stated that record labels and white label execs pimp black artist and have been for years and dude was on the game all his life. it dont stop or start with rap music and it never has.

I don't think u can compare soulja boy to ringtone rappers.

Soulja boy is actually talented. n*gga been in the lab since he was a kid, producing and writing hits that gave him successful albums. Of course soulja has become the definition of a swagga jacker, but the boy ain't no ringtone rapper.

Its just that he opened the lane for all these other lames. Like how people fu*ked wit jeezy, but then all the jeezy wannabees pop up and its trap season all over the rap game, Bawse!

Many of the posters who are sh*tting on Scrafaces's opinion have a vested interest in doing so because those racist execs are their parents, uncles and family members.

Any time an outspoken rapper calls out these labels people rush to defend these labels like they actually work for them or their parents do which doesn't surprise me at all.

Scarface has been his own man his entire career and never sold out in his music or tried to cross-over for that extra suburban dollar in the Pop arena, his opinion holds weight due to him being a pioneer, legend, veteran and a former CEO of Def Jam south.

I guess Atlantic records have discovered the formula with it's Pop-Hop that Lupe and B.O.B are doing now and we can see clearly the issues Saigon was talking about in reference to that label and its Exec's.

I agree with you 100%, but you can't blame the labels for selling a successful product. thats what they're goals have ALWAYS been. if anyone got soft it's the hiphop fans.

if Scarface was going platinum he wouldn't be saying all this, now that he is irrelevant in the industry (not in the culture) he's mad.

who gives a fu*k about record execs? I mean if he makes good music it will get heard
Who said the labels sell a successful project? Albums flop all the time.

Scarface could give less than a fu*k about going Platinum in this era he already has 4 Platinum albums and 4 Gold albums and been in the game since his debut in 1988 and still has the respect of the HipHop community.

What does platinum really mean when Insane Clown Possee have two platinum albums and Rakim doesn't have one for his solo albums? That tells me everything I need to know.

Plenty people give a fu*k about record Execs which is why they defend them so courageously.

so what is diddy excuse when he gets artists to sign contracts without reading them?(he has tried to do this more than once)

its not "white crackers" its record companies period. just like any other business that screws over people.

somebody is buying this sh!t. if they wasn't then the labels wouldn't be pushing it out. they would push out something else

"Dame Dash, J. Prince, & Irv Gotti attempted to start a distribution company and they were all raided by the Feds shortly after."

^ this

:hmm:
It's common industry knowledge.

Irv Gotti almost lost everything and he was 100% innocent

J.Prince had to get congresswoman Maxine Waters to help in his situation

Dame Dash got bamboozled out of everything he owned and he still owes the IRS.

But I think it's very interesting how when an artist that's been in the game for damn near 25 years makes a comment that these record-execs don't know sh*t about our culture all these so-called "rap-fans" rush to the defense of the labels and execs and say:

"Dude it's you peoples fault dude because Soulja Boy makes ringtones for Scarface dude"

"Dude you people should start your own distribution dude"

"Dude that old black n*gga is mad because he is irrelevant, broke and can't go platinum like Em' dude"

sh*t is so funny I can't stop laughing.
