Fukk Pele

He constantly hate on Argentines, Maradonna, and Messi. He's an old bitter bum that doesn't get the respect in the world like Diego does.

south americans didn't even go to europe back then (besides maradona), especially since they had the 2 foreigners rule

back then santos, vasco, sao paulo, internacional, flamengo (zico) etc etc >>>>>>>>>
No one is even mentioning that pele pointed out his technical prowess with BOTH feet, he was a twin a.ssassin with both feet. Just because Europe has the big three professional leagues does not mean for one second a club team will transcend someone playing for their respected country. Playing football for your country will trump club play all the time when the world cup is involved

not that tottenham have won anything, but van der vaart said in an interview recently that redknapp doesn't even discuss tactics on a drawing board before games
This must be why I love watching Tottenham play.

no he's not....He was the GOAT of his era but if you go back and watch the level of competition he played against you might change your opinion. He played against scrubs and would be NO WHERE as good if he played today.

There's little chance to believe that Messiah will be the goat when he's done...
u sound like someone using the same analogy when comparing wilt/jordan and that arguement unfair and unjustified. if thats the logic behind ones arguement then are the people ur debating for really that great? either way, gretzky goes down as the greatest player of the big 5 sports as there literally is no one that can be compared to him and most of his records wont even be close to being touched.

Pele is right......... If you ain't winning world cups don't give a fu*k what you do in Champions league or spanish league. I like Messi as a player, but Argentina is a bumb a.ss squad and those clowns ain;t gonna win a world cup for years. But he has a nice resume.

Yes. He is the O.G, don't listen to anyone that says Maradona ( cheating a.ss bastard ) compares. Maradona was a great player, but he ain't pele.

Sorry, Pele's a legend, but that's like the fu*kin Celtics boasting about their titles when half of them were won when there were only like 6 teams in the NBA and the hoop was a fu*kin peach basket. Yes, Pele achieved all of that, but teams are alot smarter now, the tactics are sharper, the players are faster/more athletic... it's just a different time.

Do you guys even realize what soccer was like in Pele's time? it was a much tougher sport and their were far less rules... No diving, no constant whining, and bigger balls... Pele will never be topped, because if you put a player like Messi in Pele's time, he would struggle with the physicality of the game alone...

That's my striker.
On a side note, Pele is correct about one thing, Messi does not have the same productivity when he puts on the national jersey for Arge tina. Nonetheless, he is a great player. The best in the world right now, but to get to Pele's level is a longgg way to go.

messi has constantly been surrounded with a plethora of talent when he plays for argentina, his success for barcelona is based on the league rewarding the play of creativity which oozes from messi and the brillance of some of his teammates especially iniesta. Messi has played with many of his barcelona teammates since he was young, natural cohesiveness develops but being the brilliant player he is, it DEFv should translate better on the world cup stage. Pele >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>messi in any fukking era
And when did Pele ever play with bums??? Pele was always sorrounded with great brazilian talents and he wasn't the main reasons behind the 2 first world cups he won with brazil.
Winning worldcup counts for something but it's not the main criteria for judging how great a player is. You get to play 7 matches (at most if your team gets to the final) every 4 years, an average player can look like one of the greatest players ever in a span of 5/6/7 matches. IMO being consistant all year for your club where you play over 50 matches a season >>> being consistant in a 5/6/7 match span. And many other factors come in play when it comes to national team success.

And smh at people ignoring that Messi doesn't play the same for Argentina as he plays for Barca, he does the playmaker role for Argentina. If you're going to judge him as a playmaker, check his stats of decisive passes compared to the goals they've scored, he's implicated in almost everything they create going foward.

Good old fashion South American Rivalry. Truth is, Pele is the greatest. Comparing these two is like comparing Jordan vs. Kobe. Two different eras, two different styles. In regards to impact on the game and it's history.....it's undeniable that no one will ever change the game like Pele. Just how Jordan did to basketball. Period.
