Pay tribute to a person you never met... and, as much as I love Aaliyah... it's not like she made art with real IMPACT.
She seemed like a beautiful person.. and that would have been amazing to be around, if you actually... um... KNEW her... but outside of that, as fans we were exposed to some pop hits, some fairly bad acting, in kinda dumb movies... and I guess that one MTV Diary episode, which is probably THE reason she is still loved so much to this day.
Again... she seemed like a pretty amazing friend, daughter, sister and partner... but if you weren't in her family, with The Roc, Timbaland's camp, or DMX or somebody that did a movie with her.... you're just Stanning for some girl that COULDN'T have impacted your life THAT much.
I honestly believe EVERY Black man age 25-40 today, is legitimately in LOVE with Aaliyah (and yes, I mean love) at least a TINY bit (which is more than I'd say for any other female artist I can think of, that's been popping since I've been on this Earth), but Drake takes it way too far.
