In what way?

It may prove that from a mainstream perspective Jay was more influential than Nas..but I'd still argue that Nas was more influential within the actual industry..and it still doesn't mean anything about how good of a rapper both are.
although i disagree with you that nas has been more influential in really any capacity more than jay, i do agree with you when saying this doesnt mean that he's a better artist. influence is relative to impact, talent isnt really a big component when conversing about impact although these guys are talented

I never said (nor do I agree) that Nas is generally more influential than Jay. I'd generally say that both are equally influential, but I think it can be argued that within the industry Nas is more influential than Jay.

But I agree..it says nothing about their talent at all.

People like Leonardo DiCaprio & Matt Damon name Nas as the "BEST" requesting Nas to score music for Hollywood movies! Steve Nash jamming with Nas on stage at his concert (2011), Will Smith going crazy at Nas' concert (2011) and you Nas haters think that Nas is sitting around worrying about what The Rock thinks about his influence. Nas got O.G.'s like DL Hugley calling him the "Marvin Gaye of hip hop" because Nas' music is so lyrically vivid (2011). Nas is in good company as far as what mainstream entertainers think about his influence Martin Scorsese (Casino & The Departed ect.) "Nas made my film hot like 95 Ferenheit."-Martin Scorsese

That list is pretty solid..

Master P wouldn't be on my list but I can respect it. I could pick a better rapper but he definitely was a better business man than a rapper.

Master P isn't anything special to me but I guess in terms of influence he pretty much opened the door for Cash Money and the rest of the South commercially which eventually lead to all this commercialization and watered down club music saturating the mainstream so I guess that's influential.
