CP3 is leaving regardless. You think an owner is actually oblivious enough to not know that? Buying a team with no CP3 and pieces in return >>>>> buying a team with CP3 for 66 games and nothing in return.

You would think so but apparently not, hence the veto

Any owner who buys a team based on ONE PLAYER doesn't deserve to own a team.

The Hornets have a lot of suitors lined up to buy the team. Don't let the media deceive you on that front. None of them wanted to buy the team until the new CBA was signed. They'll have an owner before the season is over.

dumbfu*k its obvious he's leaving no one is doubting that, but the fact that its been vetoed now makes it a moot point

Stern has the control and pull here and is doing what HE thinks is right. No one can change it but him.

Draft picks weren't even swapped, which in turn could be used with Bynum to get Howard etc....

Stern is blocking it because of future moves that would come after this trade, and honestly the league would be so lopsided it'd be like the MLB for years making the salary cap utterly useless.
Just like the league was so lopsided in 04 when the Lakers had Kobe, Shaq, Malone, and Payton. How did that turn out?

do you have any idea what that one player is worth to the overall value of the franchise?

The veto was because ppl don't want to see the Lakers get CP3 and Howard. It has nothing to do with making the franchise easier to sell because CP3 is there.

Thats part of it obviously but the team won't be bought if they give away CP3 and the league gonna have to continue to own them

that doesn't matter though

he made it very clear to them that he wasn't re-signing so that value sh*t goes out the window because for "fair trade value" you have to get somebody like LeBron-Wade-Melo-etc in return

Hornets pulled the trigger on this deal because they got the best return that they were gonnaget. That's all there is to it. Muhfu*kas started hatin because it was the Lakers that were gonna get em, and not their small market team so they bi*ched to Stern to get it cancelled and won. That's bullsh*t.

What does CP3 has to do with anything? An owner is not going to buy a team for the short term. He wants long term success. It's an investment. CP3 is not going to be there next season, so it plays no decision in someone wanting to buy the team.

I understand but the second part of my thought was that the Hornets were taking on extra salary in this deal. If they weren't than nvm.

Hell yeah, look at his team now. He got two top 5 picks and what seems to be a bright future.

It's a business, you lose players all the time. Fans still show up if they like basketball. Obviously stars will bring you more cash, I'm not arguing that.

thank u the same idiots keep talking about they cant sell the team without chris paul lol . do u know how long nba has owned N.O and still wasn't able to sale the team. What makes u think he gonna be able to sell it now knowing that cp3 is gone no matter what . just stop talking about selling the team this is about other jealous owners who see the big picture They knew that lakers was gonna be able to make POWER MOVES and get cp3 and or DW or at worst get sum more good players to fill there roster without really getting hit in the cap. That the issue Dan hating a.ss didnt like that the lakers was getting better and saving sum doe he's a true bi*ch
