Yet, you posted a million songs from him without me asking you to? Clown a.ss n*gga...

You're right, I don't know sh*t about rap.
like i said, why should i use words to describe why hes good? if you cant hear it in his music then i dont know what to tell you

i never said you didnt know anything, im sayin im not one of those people who act like age is a factor in having knowledge of music.

It was a joke if you didn't catch that. Again, I've NEVER liked DMX. And I probably shouldn't call him wack as much as I should just call him overrated as fu*k.
you seem pretty serious about it my bad..lol but overrated we can agree

P.M. DAWN. And what's crazy that wack sh*t was ahead of its time.
If they were new artists right now, they would fit right in with what's hot RIGHT NOW.

They would've been right on the Lil Wayne "How to Love" Remix.

dr. dre (as a rapper) - dr. dre's thug rapping is = tyler perry dressing up as madea
99% of wu-fam groups/artists - why'd they have to ruin the wu tang legacy with these fu*kin horrible a.ss off shoot groups?

I didn't ask for good X songs, I said what makes him good. If I like a track by an artist no matter who it is, I can admit it unlike alot of people who just d!ckride certain artists and hate others. Musically, DMX CAN make good music, but it's not something that I would like to listen to. And I was like 16 when DMX came out, so it's not an 'era' thing.
For me.. what makes X good is the subtleties in his music. Even on a song like Get At Me Dog you can get a gist of what he is... and that's a troubled dude. The opening line.. " what must I go through to show you sh*t is real? " speaks volumes to me. It's almost like he's asking " how far do I have to take it to prove my point? " Then later on his the song he says " I got a lot of dreams, but I'm not really chasing mine. " He sounds hopeless as hell.

He also has a way with phrases. One that always stuck out to me was how he took the old saying " It's better to give than receive ", but he flipped it and made it fit for robbery. " I'm gon' get you either way so it's better to live. Let me get what's in your sock 'cause it's better to give... than receive.. " Another one I always liked was " Respect is not expected, but it's given 'cause it's real.. " It's simple yet effective. One of his strong points (in my opinion) is how conservative he is with his words and phrasing.

X was agressive and brash, but he was also very human at the same time. But it's subtle.. most people (like you said) get caught up in his voice and energy and they miss the undertones. That bi-polar, schizophrenic way of thinking is what makes X special to me. I'm not trying to convert you into a DMX fan or anything... just saying why I like him. Peace.

A post like this I can fu*k with. Too many people get mad sensitive over other people's opinions on here.
Seriously.. I think a lot of these dudes can't back up their opinions because their opinions are based on everyone else's. Dudes like whoever they think they're supposed to like. You got cats putting Rakim in their top 5 but they can't quote a lyric off of Paid In Full. Cats saying Illmatic is the greatest album ever because that's what they've been told, but they can't tell you why for themselves. It's crazy.

WTF is Group Home????
Group Home was a group that was put out by DJ Premier. They were SUPER average but they dropped Livin' Proof which is a really dope album. Premo pretty much willed them to a dope a.ss LP.
