disgusting. Their mother probably bought them that Nintendo on a credit card with money she doesn't have, too(I'd mention the father but family homes have been practically destroyed). Yeah, how cute is commercialism and children indoctrinated by marketing devils into thinking having an electronic piece of sh*t is the road to happiness. So much so that parents without money feel like sh*t if they can't get their children some expensive piece of trash, and go to the banks for overdrafts and credit cards. And if you don't get them some commercialist piece of sh*t the other brainwashed school children will probably bully them for being "poor". Just adorable, ain't it?

... Meanwhile, in China, a whole army of "cute" little girls are sat(to be fair, they're probably stood) around in a make-shift warehouse, working 12 hours a day for a slave wage just to help their family get by, so some mindless fu*ktard in the West can cripple the world economy by spending money that doesn't exist on a pointless games console that a young child doesn't even need.

There's nothing cute about commercialism. That's how the indoctrination works though, got to make everything cute and enjoyable, and if you don't love the commercialism then you're just Scrooge-incarnate.

2 girls reaching for an encyclopedia or a charity box - That would be a pleasant image. But this? This just makes me nauseated. I fear for humanity.

Am I wrong though? You can say I'm miserable, anti-christmas, a fu*king k!ll joy... But is what I've said wrong? It's negative and cynical, but that's all.

We all know that's how the world is, but you're prepared to find commercialism cute(which is what marketers want) and I'm not. I'm not trying to attack anyone who disagrees with me because I laid my argument on heavy to play devils advocate. I'm trying you to look at things from a human perspective.

Like that commercial. Cute, right? But look at the message being portrayed.

I love christmas but I don't think people appreciate enough how soul destroying it can be for many parents. The message portrayed is that you should get yourself in debt to give your brainwashed children something they don't need, and if you don't you're cruel or not fit to have children.

My opinion I think is the same as everyone else - I'm not entirely heartless - IF not for the fact these young children are reaching for a Nintendo games console when they look about 2 years old. I find that very, very sad. Why are children who cannot read or write reaching for these things? Children that age shouldn't even know what a Nintendo 3DS is.

Morally and economically I think there should be serious discussions about child-targeted marketing and commercialism. Although I didn't realize this thread was in the gamespot and understand if members feel differently(about children interested in games consoles or computers). But surely a legitimate argument rather than ridicule is the best avenue for disagreement with my post.

I was somewhat trolling slash playing devils advocate in my first post, laying it on thick to spark discussion.

I've spent plenty on presents this year, but it's adult choice based on information and free will. The way in which children are targeted as a means of guilting parents into wasting money and getting themselves in debt... I find it complete abhorrent.
