He's a good game manager yes. If you haven't noticed with the pass plays they call, they call the simple "Trent Dilfer" pass plays that protect him from making mistakes.
He's an average QB, if you have to put the game in his hands it won't turn out good. You guys haven't fell behind yet to anybody to notice this year, but we've all seen enough of him in the last 6 years to know.
Not a 49er fan so neutral. They don't ask that much out of him because they don't have to with Gore and their defense. So why not try to limit mistakes? Everybody's gameplan isn't to pour on the points (Saints, Packers, etc) and not play a lick of defense.
Have you seen some of the throws he's made this game. He's showing great poise in the pocket. Throwing the ball away or getting out of bounds when he needs to. The throw to Vernon in the 1st was where nobody could get it and then he follows it up with a should-have-been TD with Ted Ginn. Alex Smith is nothing like a Trent Dilfer.
