How Bad is a 60hz TV?

I'm not sure if this is the right section, so feel free to move it if need be...

I'm in need of a new tv, so of course I've been checking out the black friday deals. I find that damn near every tv on sale has a 60hz refresh rate. Even the ones not on sale mostly are the same thing.

I know 120hz is much better but that 1 feature puts most tv's out of the range of what I'm trying to spend. To get an idea, I'm trying to get a 37-46 inch, 1080p that will be my main tv ans will also be used for gaming and blu-ray watching.

So my question is, will I be really disappointed or is it something I can live with?

how much are you looking to spend...and you will notice the refresh rate especailly on fast moving games/shows/movies

but I mean you also lived with it for years before 120 and 240hz were out so Yes you can live with it...but 120 hz is a noticeable difference...

I got a 60hz. Couple years ago or whenever they came out I seen a 120hz for the first time. My friend had 2 pull me away. Get 120 or better.

You'd be surprised. As I look around target, best buy etc... websites, there are ALOT of 60hz options

I have a 46 inch 60hz sony 1080p. The picture is crazy clear when camera is still. But when watching football you can see the difference when plays are run. Its substantial. If you just care about Tv shows 60hz is fine

Do you regret that you don't have the 120hz?

I have a Samsung 120Hz from 2009 that can also do 60Hz. I personally don't like the effect 120Hz has on my gaming and TV/movies. I much prefer the 60Hz but to each their own
