I'm not a huge fan of his.....but this is great for hip hop if you look at the bigger picture. I think artist and labels are starting to realize the power of viral marketing. Just look at what Mac, Cole and Tyler did this year......selling albums off the strength of loyal fanbases built from the ground up through viral marketing.....no hit singles needed ("Workout" wasn't a hit yet when CW:TSLS dropped).
I'm calling it now, this type of sh*t is gonna open doors for a lot of these "conscious/lyrical/real hip hop" n*ggas who y'all wish would start selling albums (Kendrick Lamar comes to mind)
She really does deserve it though.
Yep. I agree. This is great for hip hop. Takes away from major corporations (y'all know what I mean). Radio isn't a necessity
anymore, it's a bonus. I don't really listen to Mac Miller's music--but obviously a lot of people do. Have you seen this kid YouTube playlist? He's got 1 video with over 35 million views. 4 videos with roughly 15-20 million. 3-4 with at least 5 million.
As for Adele, my girl listens to her. I actually didn't know sh*t about Adele until she told me.
