So what do they do? Just let their star players walk? Cause another team would scoop them up quick if they dont overpay
Yeah, they can let another dumbass team overpay and suffer

You could also do a sign and trade

Or trade the player during the season if you know you're not going to retain him. That way you get some value in return before he turns into a free agent.

Too many $120M contracts being given out like it's candy.

oh, is that the same contract the knicks had a chance to use amnesty on for those final 2 years, but used on another much-cheaper player instead?

If I were the owners, I'd make EVERY contract incentive based. Every player starts out with a base salary, and then they only make the rest of the contract if they reach their incentives. fu*k it, the players are being bi*ches right now.. I'd start throwing some sh*t out and make that my "sticking point" for getting the season started again.

I'm really starting to question D. Fish's capacity for negotiating this deal. I'm a pretty big hoops fan, but this lockout doesn't have the same impact as the last one. The league is in a transition, as opposed to an apex. Which means, it's easier for fans to fukk off and do some other shyt. (Different forms of entertainment, overseas games on the internet etc...)

Guaranteed contracts should of been gone for years

Then these clowns wonder why their league locks-out every 5 years

Whenever these "athletes" realize there's more to life and playing a sport doesn't justify their salary

The players WORK for the owners....the owners are already well off and dont't NEED the players

Therefore no NBA is only bad for players & fans...owners still live on

Can't wait to see how many players try renigging on their overseas contract...

Players probably shook about playing ball in the fu*kin Ukraine for peanuts
