What classic albums did rockafella have besides jay z albums?
kanye is still signed under rocafella and people argue that almost every album he had is a classic or at least 4/5

and people really gonna act like beans and freeway albums weren't solid

state property album was a banger too.

that's the only thing people are gonna use to fuel their argument

pretty easy to sell when you got white kids that don't even listen to rap d!ckriding and buying every fu*kin Eminem-related release

I'm white too, so I dare a muhfu*ka to say that's a racist comment

Are you saying albums like 2001, get rich and TMMLP are not good and only get praised because of there sales?

Was y'all alive 1999-2005 aftermath was Puting out 2 if not 3 quality albums a year
Yeah but come on you out of all people should know the run of the Roc during that time too.

Hard Knock Life tour
Vol 3
The Understanding
The Truth
DJ Clue the Professional 1 and 2
Dynasty
Backstage Soundtrack
The Reason
Come Home with Me
Blueprint
The Paid in Full mixtape/Soundtrack
From Me to U
Black Album
College Dropout
The Dipset Mixtapes and Diplomatic Immunity
State Property OST/compilation
Philadelphia Freeway
Purple Haze (This was recorded while he was on the Roc/Def Jam)
B. Coming
Late Registration

That's not even including the other albums that are sort of short but still solid (Blueprint 2, Bleek and the Gunners) or the fact that they encouraged competition and collaboration that brought the best in their peers/rivals (Ruff Ryders, Cash Money, Nas, QB artists, murder Inc, other Def Jam artists)

Shady/Aftermath had the crossover charts but The Roc really influenced the streets during that time. And this is coming from a Nas fan.

2001 isn't that good to me, people crack me the fu*k up thinking that weak sh*t is seeing The Chronic

Get Rich was Cool, and I'm not an Eminem fan so...can't comment on MMLP

I may be wrong here, but werent dipset and the ROC split up around Late Registration time?

Like i thought it was a big deal that Cam was on the song "Gone" cuz they werent down with each other like that then.

Which means the dipset/ ROC era wouldnt be together for a lot of ur list

They split from the Roc around the same time Dame parted ways which was December 2004, correct.

However the dipset albums I'm talking about came out during their time with Roc (the first 3 mixtapes, Diplomatic Immunity vol 1., Juelz's debut and those Cam albums) which was like 2002-2004

how many of those albums are looked at as classics? MAYBE Get Rich

death Row changed the game

Chronic
Doggystyle
All Eyez On Me
Makaveli

are ALL considered some of the best albums in rap history.

G-Funk Era >
This is the only streak that I think can be compared to the Shady/ Aftermath era

2001> Chronic
GRODT> Doggy Style
MMLP> Makavelli
Eminem Show= All eyes on me

I give the nod to shady/aftermath.

IMHO MMLP is a perfect album

I disagree, bcuz the only artists that had that dropped classic was Eminem, D12 and Dr. Dre. But Dr. Dre don't write his lyrics so his classics don't mean much to me, which leaves us with Em and D12. That ain't enough to compete with the classic CMR dropped from 1997-2000 (How U luv that, Get it How U Live, Soulja Rags, 400 Degreez, G-Code, Chopper City in da Ghetto, The Block is Hot, Guerrilla Warfare)
get rich not a classic?

And most of them albums u posted are not classics

In what way was that bullsh*t?

I wouldnt disagree if u believed otherwise, but all those albums changed the game also.

GRODT completely changed the game when it dropped. EVERYONE wanted to be like 50, dropping mixtapes, a whole slew of gangster rappers came in, it WAS HUGE.

2001 IMO is better than the chronic. STILL to this day, u see plenty of producers trying to re-create the pianos/ west coast sound Dre used on that. Huge impact on the game.

MMLP like I said, is what I think is the best Rap album ever.

And TES and All Eyes on me were Pac and Em's best albums after attaining that huge stardom/spotlight.

I dont think those albums should be considered better just cuz they came before
