Yes you go to the game for the players... But the players get paid for that anything other than that is greed... Owners arent asking players with endorsements to split those earnings.. So at the end of the day what the players make is sufficient enough.. And its stupid of a fan to support the players on this when anybody making 300,000 playing a sport is overpaid already.. I want to see my Knicks in action..
And you smart idiots, dont understand that the money generated from ticket sales, jerseys, food.. Is what pays for the players salaries..
define overpaid? are you only saying that because you can't cope with the fact that someone can make millions playing a sports game?
while some players are definitely overpaid (R-lewis, j-johnson, gilbert arenas, etc...) every penny generated by the NBA is because of the players so they all deserve to get compensated well, their value is definitely worth millions. they just need to come up with a better system on how that money is spread between players because a Joe Johnson and a Rashard Lewis shouldn't be in the top 10 paid players in in the league, the latter being the 2nd highest paid. And players like Brian grant don't get 13 million a year and you get the point. Or at least come up with a system where they can re-negotiate a contract after a season or two if the player doesn't play up to the standard the team was holding him to.
I mean it's the owner's damn fault in the first place, they're the ones who gave those player's that salary anyways lol.
for the record, I don't think the players should get 57% though. The 51-52% sounds about right though
