What more do you want? They're rebuilding. And sadly, Wright will be a goner too. You don't think some team isn't going to offer him 100 million dollars next offseason when he opts out. Might as well trade him now for a boatload of prospects than end up with a 3rd round pick . For ya'll sake, ya'll better hope Johan comes back dominant so he can be traded at the deadline or else thats going to be a crippling contract for the remainer of it.

The Phillies are not shopping Polanco and are only interested in trading him if they can't re-sign Jimmy Rollins, reports ESPN's Jayson Stark. The Phillies refer to keep Rollins and Polanco on the left side of their infield, but they could add someone like Aramis Ramirez if Rollins leaves. Stark says the Phillies are willing to eat about a third of Polanco's contract, which equates to $2.4MM.
so its either aramis or rollins, i'll take rollins is thats the case. but polanco cant stay healthy i dont know if we can keep trotting him out there like that

Jim Salisbury has said all along that the Phillies have to "budget" as if Ryan Madson could accept arbitration since it's a posibility, but Sully always added that it was unlikely Mad Dog would actually accept.

The closer market appears to be drying up a bit, with the Blue Jays trading for Sergio Santos this morning, so that could change Madson's thinking a bit.

Now, Jayson Stark is saying there's a buzz Mad Dog could be back in Philly next season with he and his agent Scott Boras testing the closer market next offseason instead:

While that's clearly not what Ruben pictured his pen to be like (or his budget) in 2012, what a sick 8-9th inning duo would that be.

Bastardo - 7th
Madson - 8th
Paps - 9th

Agreed, Rather have rollins. Poli was on a roll to start the season until his injury. Maybe just need a solid backup.

We should've taught Mayberry Jr. 3rd base last season instead on 1st.
Mayberry I think is athletic enough, and his reactions are quick enough where he can learn that within a year or two. I heard he played some in H.S somewhere.

The Mariners are now considered the front-runners for free agent Prince Fielder, according to ESPN's Jim Bowden.
This is speculation and not fact, but at least its based in sound logic. The Brewers, Cubs and Blue Jays all want Fielder to agree to a shorter contract, which hampers their odds. The Brewers offered six years for $120 million, Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopolous said they're not willing to offer more than five years and the Cubs' strategy is to offer a higher annual salary for fewer years. If the Mariners get aggressive, Fielder might be there for the taking. Of course, the Rangers have been relatively quiet on the Fielder and could emerge with a big offer.
hope Seattle gets him and not Texas

Hopefully the price comes down on Danks

Chi-Sox gonna lose alot of games next year.

i'm tellin u man, AA takes no prisoners dude is an a.ssassin. gets what he wants when he wants

love that move. we have great starting pitching depth right now in the farm in terms of prospects, and flipping an unproven starting pitching propsect, for a guy like santos is unreal. guy was top 5 in AL in k/9 with 13+. filthy stuff. his contract is real nice too, 6 years with 3 of them club option to buyout at juust 2.5 mil. only first 3 years guaranteed for 8 mill total lmao. and he's just 26...i love AA!

DALLAS -- Hanley Ramirez has informed the Miami Marlins that he does not want to move from shortstop to third base, a source told ESPNdeportesLosAngeles.com on Tuesday.

"Hanley doesn't want to play third base and the Marlins were informed of that," the source said. "Rather than ask for a trade, what he has done is to inform (the team) that he does not want to play another position other than shortstop." Meanwhile, Andy Mota, Ramirez's agent, said to ESPNDeportesLosAngeles.com about the situation: "no comment."

Marlins would be selling low on Hanley. He's had two straight subpar years and he's not exactly making pennies. You guys aren't going to get back another superstar in return for him.

Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com was told by a major-league source that the Orioles are willing to listen to offers for center fielder Adam Jones.

Jones, 26, earned $3.25 million this season while batting .280/.319/.466 with 25 home runs, 83 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .785 OPS. His salary could approach $6 million in his second year of arbitration.

Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette told Melewski over the weekend that ”I think that we should build around players like Adam Jones,” but he may have to soon ask himself whether they are better off dealing him before he gets expensive. Jones’ plate discipline has actually regressed over the last two seasons and advanced metrics say that he rates below-average defensively in center field.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com just mentioned that the O’s are telling teams that Jones is off-limits, but for a team that’s not anywhere close to contention, they should absolutely see what’s out there.
