God this sh*t is just sickening to read.

What's funny is how there was once a time where Marion fu*king Barber was considered one of the best backs in the league.

My point? In order to be considered great, or the best you have to be ONE of the best on a consistent basis year in and year out.
Bo Jackson is considered one of the GOATs and he didn't play very long at all...

Terrible comparison. Griffey Jr dominated for YEARS.

It's an insult to Griffey, I know.

But his story is basically McFadden's, but multiplied by 100.

He was prolly the lowest pick of all mentioned.

But I'll take any of 'em besides Stewart, Mandenhall, & Felix.
i posted them in order of draft pick. i think everyone was drafted within the first 3 rounds except for hillis (7th rd)

If you factor in production and injuries, Ray Rice easily unless you're a homer.

Raiders fans, I'm sorry, but you can't show out for 4-5 games, then go down for 10, and expect people to say he is the best.

Rice
Forte
Charles/McFadden

so this is strictly off numbers? that's stupid

no RB in the league has the combo of speed-strength-finesse AND power moves that DMC has, dude can block and catch with the best of em too.
When has it not been about #'s? When has anyone ever been considered great without the #'s to back it up? Name me one player at any position in the NFL thats been ocnsidered great without showing it for a min. of two years

Let me ask you this

Would you rather have McFadden 4-7 games a season, or Rice for 15-16?

Durability is another trait you have to factor in to player's when comparing them.
They don't hear you

Talent. Talent don't mean nothing if your not on the field doing using it. hahahah I run a 4.1 forty, I bench 515lbs and squat 700lbs. I can catch and jump. But what does it matter if your on the sideline in a hoody?

 kakish said:
That doesn't apply here because McFadden is only 24 and has his whole career ahead of him. If he keeps it up then you can say that, but as of now he hasn't even hit his prime yet.
One thing about the body when it comes to injuries. When you keep getting back to back rehabilitating injuries, your body no longer reacts the way it use to. Which makes it easier for you to get injuried because your body isn't durable. He will never play a full seaon in the NFL. Not that I wish ill upon him but his body isn't right

Whoa! Who considers Bo-Jackson a GOAT? He not even top 10 all-time if you say he is you better point out who he better than.

Rice because hes been healthy, but Charles had 1 major injury that can happen to anyone. I'd still take Charles and I don't think its that close. People underestimating that 6 yard per carry average...

Ray Rice no question. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't watch football. Ray Rice has been the most consistent ALL AROUND BACK. He does his job week in and week out. End of story. Chris Johnson had a couple good years then fell off. He had a good game last week but consistency is key, and he has none.

Forte is good as well, I just think his injuries played a part in deciding my vote.
Not even a mention of Charles? He got hurt one year and people act like he doesn't put in work
