It was a good movie, forsure, but I'd agree it is being overhyped. I still have Source Code ranked above it for this year, but that's just me.

It's in my top 5 though.

Source Code, Drive, Planet Of The Apes, Lincoln Lawyer, Attack The Block, Super 8, X-Men.

Thats probably my rough draft of my top 7, in that order.

Burnt it, I'll watch it sometime soon. Hopefully its better than Anti-Christ that film was

I thought ANTICHRIST was great, but I understand why ppl wouldn't like it.

MELANCHOLIA is a lot better and it's a different type of film. I think those who dislike ANTICHRIST would dig MELANCHOLIA.

I bought Antichrist on Blu-Ray a few weeks back and loved it, it's still pretty confusing to me, and I have no CLUE what the ending meant But it was something I enjoyed watching, and I'll probably watch it again later on. I got the Critierion Collection BD so there's a booklet inside where I think the author talks about what he feels the movie means, Act by Act, so I'll have to look into that after watching it next time.

I have a feeling Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy will be the best movie of the year and garner Oldman at the very least a Oscar nomination.
Omega brought up Gary Oldman for an Oscar and after I saw the trailer for that film, I agreed. I might read the book before I see the movie.

The ending is deep and it's open to interpretation like most of the movie.

In the entire film, evil/tragedy and themes of isolation are brought to the forefront -- it takes a death and horrific events to bring "relief" of sorts. The ending is "release", and it's symbolic of another gateway being opened. You can say Willem Dafoe's character emerged from Hell to be greeted by humanity. This is my interpretation, but you can draw what you will from it. I think you can make case it's a hallucination, but I looked at it as symbolism and what the vision means to you. I remember an interview with Dafoe saying it's about the emotion more than anything and that makes perfect sense.

Great movie, imo.

1. Drive (soundtrack......)
2. Attack the Block
3. Let me in (only saw it in January)
4. The guard
5. The King's Speech

Tinker Tailer finna be good tho. And i'm sure when I see warrior its goin up, cuz The f!ghter was bangin as fu*k. As good as the plot is tho, it could be on a usual suspects level, if they dont have the soundtrack or a perfect Zimmer score, Drive stayin in 1. Honorable mention to X-Men first class tho. Best Marvel movie since spiderman 2.

after reading a few posts in this thread, just thought i'd to let you know about tinker tailor soldier spy.

Kind of like in the way Drive was advertised, what you see in the trailer is not what you get. Its a very slow paced film with little to no action So those expecting an espionage action thriller will not be entertained. It's a paranoia fueled drama with a fair bit of the acting done with the eyes. Personally, i found it thoroughly engrossing.

Oldman was good but i thought Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy & Mark Strong were the stand out actors. There was one issue i had towards the end that i didnt like but i wont spoil it.

Attack the Block is utter cringe. I couldn't make it past 15 minutes on that film.

My favorite watch this year was Beats, Rhymes & Life.
