it's a stupid idea... since fast food is cheaper your gonna have parents buying their kids fast food everyday which is gonna lead them to obesity and heart failure... nice job america.

What you mean END UP? lol, we already there homeboy... And I agree, this is so those particular "lower" class people can shove that non-nutritional fatty food into their faces, speeding up the death process tremendously...
You know what I meant lol all they are trying to do is to get people to k!ll themselves slowly while reaping all the profits from it.

We gone need that health care plan. More fast food with food stamps. Look out for higher obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure levels.

I don't agree with this. America is fat already. Why help them to an earlier grave?

Here are my two cents. If a really poor family has food stamps and has to choose between Whole Foods or Walmart to get groceries, I'm sure the poor family will go to Walmart. Though the food at Walmart may not be as good as Whole Foods, the lower prices can provide families with more food to feed their kids. Grocery shopping at Whole Foods would only deplete the funds quicker and provide less food ,thus forcing families to pay out of pocket for food. By shopping at places that provide cheap food (MCD, Burger King, etc.), families can save money on other necessities and hopefully work their way out of poverty.

This is obviously one example out of the many regarding families with food stamps. I do not agree with food stamps being used on fast food (I think they should be used at Farmer's Markets), but different people have different priorities and buying cheap sh*t allows them to save money on other things instead of healthier food (which unfortunately costs more).
Fast food is more expensive, especially if eaten every day.

GROCERY: red beans ($1), rice ($1.50) & sausage ($4) can feed a a family of four for one night

FAST FOOD: Mcdonalds two big macs ($5 each) and two kids meals ($3 each) will cost $16 for one dinner. And for some reason, fast food does not fill me up so I would be hungry later, therefore justifying the purchase of more fattening foods.

This fast food food stamp idea is wack

What a break-through for the inner-city community.

Putting that poison in your system. Just another way to keep the underprivileged down.
So are you saying that poor people can or can't make their own choices

Me personally, I dont agree with it because as a parent whose child's mother is already on food stamps, it's already hard enough to get her and my daughter to eat healthy as it is, and if the govt.decides to go that route it'll be even harder. Plus it's not cheaper because two meal deals, even medium size from BK cost around 12-15 bucks, and she only gets like 300 a month as it is. It's cheaper to shop for groceries and you can actually shop both cheaper and healthier at Walmart as long as you know how to shop, sadly most lower income families do not. I guess they figured it's better to let fast foods do this legally because here in Louisiana they be doing on the slick, some places in the hood were letting people buy alcohol and cigarettes as well and during Katrina and Gustav they were taking ebts then so its been done before sad to say.
