they always say after the gym, fi you intake whey protein your body absorbs very quick but now im staring to question their meaning of quick
for instance, i come from doing HIIT and i eat simple carbs, my body will breakdown and absorb those carbs.....im guessing within 45 minutes or an hour, maybe faster but i figure whey protein isolate gets absorbed that quick also

I would honestly have to dig into my first year bio notes just to give u an in-depth answer but just know that our bodies use glycolysis and/or oxidative phosphoralation as our main energy pathways. Protein synthesis is a bit more complex than that and protein has to first be broken down into products that can be used by the glycolytic system in order to produce ATP.
But all of that is moot since you should be consuming a high protein, AND a carb rich meal after workouts anyways. I prefer using dextrose with my post workout isolate shake.
