Edwards was an overrated signing in my opinion. He had Jared Allen catching double teams, and the Williams wall during his career (granted not all of it). He's not going to have that sort of advantage in Atlanta.
On a separate note. Even though I think they gave a little too much to get him, Julio Jones looks like a fu*king awesome prospect. White, Jones, Douglas, Gonzalez.... those are some good weapons for Ryan. Now we're going to see if he's a legit QB, or if there is some truth to check down, short passes.
I don't get that excuse...Abraham gets constant doubles, Babineaux is severely underrated, and Perry/Peters have always stood stout when healthy...when watching highlights, most his sacks came off of chip blocks and double teams. it's more than just the pass rush though, dude is a complete LDE, something we haven't had since Kerney. now we won't have to change personnel to key the D on whether we're trying to stop the run, or rush the passer(Anderson/Chauncey on runs, Biermann on pass). if he can contribute 6, with Biermann giving up another 6, I'd be happy.
and yeah, if Ryan doesn't put in work this year then I'll have to admit he's probably going to be a system QB. that's cool, as long as our system wins us more than regular season games.
