Steve Stoute On Jay-Z Responding To Lil Wayne: “Jay Is SO MUCH Bigger Than Rap At This Point.”

Let’s face it, we all want to see King Hov throw a jab or 57889 back at Wayne for the one liner on “It’s Good.” But since we don’t live in a perfect world? We’d be hard pressed to hear a response from Hov in any capacity. And Steve Stoute feels the same way. In a recent interview with the homey Jas, Mr. Stoute briefly discusses why he thinks Jay won’t be tapping Wayne’s chin any time soon. Read Stoute’s quote below and Jas’ entire interview over at Necolebi*chie on September 8th. Stoute’s new book Tanning Of America hits September 8th.

‘For Jay-Z to do ANYTHING that resembles moving backwards right now would be insane. And a Jay-Z beef is moving backwards. Jay is SO MUCH bigger than rap at this point. He’s a movement. And THAT’S where his head is at. That’s where his focus is. And NO ONE is on his level, even worthy of him battling with. No one. So you probably won’t see that happen.’

jay is too "BIG" to battle, but he's not bigger than sending out subliminals all day???

I told some kid this in his own thread. The media does Jay's work these days. Its fu*king surreal when the media takes sides in any conflict. That's how big this n*gga's image is right now.

I agree with Steve Stout 110%. It would be a backwards move to get sucked into a beef with someone as uninmportant to the culture as Wayne. I know some of you are saying "this is hip-hop...you gotta defend your title!" but Jay-Z is on a whole other level.

Jay-Z can call Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Warren Buffet and Oprah more than likely without having to go through more than one person. Jay has nothing left to prove in terms of hip-hop. For him to indulge in rap beef would be a total regression.

Yet it's important enough at the same time for Jay to sneak diss? Which side is it man... yall are talking in circles here. He's too big for Wayne and Baby yet they on his mind still when he recorded HAM. Ooook.

if Jay truly believes this himself, then get out the game & stop rappin' then...keep your old a.ss behind the desk,climb the corporate ladder and leave hip hop for the peasants...stop planting both feet in two gardens...

sh*t is like Kobe being on the court with Lebron in the finals & Kobe saying he's too prestigious to take the winning shot...if you say you're the best then prove it or get the fu*k off the court.

Why? The fu*k does any of this do for you or any of us? Why do you care what any of us think really? Some of yall look into this music way too much. It's cool to talk about it and sh*t on here, but some people treat these rappers like they are their favorite sports team or some sh*t. Like Jay is bringing home the trophy for you or something.

[quotee=resunsward;20431048]Come on man ...

The endorsements, marketing and worldwide appeal of Jay sh*ts on 50's. He sells more records and has a bigger fanbase. Dude sells out shows in a day and does major festivals traditionally helmed by stadium rock bands like U2. He's married to one of the biggest contemporary pop stars at the moment (only amplifying his popularity even more). He was invited to the presidents birthday party, takes meetings with politicians and billion dollar executives ....

I could go on. But what I'm saying is, Jay is a different kind of "popular" now. He's not just popular in the streets (which was 50 from 2003-2005), he's a worldwide icon now. Check the numbers man, they right infront of your eyes.[/quote]

Nah you have blinders on. ON a worldwide level 50 Cent and Eminemm sh*t on Jay-z, they do real tours and sell tickets not just festivals which they do as well. 50 out sold Jay's when they performed in the same venue in Africa after 50 fell off in 2008 and then again in morrocco this year. With 80,000 people.

JAY-Z is not an icon over seas unless you want to count the UK and canada

50 sold just as many records as Jay in half the time, even if he keeps going gold he will pass jay
