Is it bad to do pushups everyday?

Quick question. I ain't done pushups in a very long time since in my teen years and I want to get back to working out. What I wanna know is it bad to do pushups everyday?? Most people tell me that if you're a beginner then don't do it cause you need your muscles to relax. Some say that once you're in shape you can do it everyday but I'm kind of confused. When I used to do them alot back in the day, I would just do a certain set every other day. Like pushups monday, wednesday, friday, then rest muscles on the weekend. Please give me some advice cause I really don't wanna fu*k around and injure myself.

I got the perfect pushup and I'm very prepared on working out. So please give me some advice on what to do and not to do cause I haven't done this in so long and need to refreshen my mind on working out again. Plus I wanna get a nice chest for the bi*ches! image

As long as you aren't feeling any pain, do a million every day if you can. Like tech said, it's only push ups....

Your body rebuilds when your not lifting. You rest 22 hours a day.

That totally depends on the load, the frequency and the intensity of a workout broski!

If you're still sore the next day don't do them. Just wait till you're not sore anymore then go at it again.

it really depends if you want to get lean or build muscle, lean you can do a higher amount of reps with less rest. there is only much muscle you can build with push ups, eventually you will need some resistance to be added like a band or actual weights. also dont do them everyday give your body some time to recover. and do not go crazy and do a million on the first day otherwise you can develop rhabdomyolysis and end up on the er. push ups are great since you use a lot of your core muscle to stabilize your trunk and pelvis, what i recommend is to use dumbbells or something that allows you to keep your wrist straight instead of hyperextension. hope it helps

Anybody who's ever joined the military will tell you pushups are like the only training routine that you can do every day in massive excess without any detrimental effect.

I use pushup bars and do 4 sets of 30 hanging my legs of the edge of my bed into a decline position every other day. It took me a couple weeks to be able to do so many.

All muscles need rest to grow. Doing a certain excercise everyday will not get you results.

no..it really doesnt. If youre trying to put on muscle mass you will on heed your progress if you do not allow your muscles to recover. If you are putting stress on them and "attempting to tear tissue" while your body is performing protein synthesis, the only thing that will happen is your body will have to start the process over.
