So more times than not, we were in games because of Rose just beasting and our defense. So it's really not a surprise we weren't good offensively.
On the other hand, there are two guards out there that can help. J.R. Smith is one. Arron Afflalo is another. Jason Richardson is another. Jamal Crawford is another. I can keep going. The only catch is that we would have to convince one to take the MLE (if it's still in the new CBA). If you add one of those guys, and we're not as injured up front, then our offense will get a lot better.
For yall defensively, it's basically going to take a complete 180.
Paul's not the best defensive PG in the NBA.
good luck with that task....all these dudes are pretty much in their primes right now...
we have roster positions wide open that need to be filled....we can hire a defensive a.ssistant coach (lawrence frank) and bring in athletic bodies to do the same thing your team did last year...it's really not an issue...
i always laugh when people point out amare, and melo on defense....because it's not about mare, and melo...it's about TEAM defense...because derrick rose is not a good defender at all...but he plays on a great TEAM defense...and mare, and melo both are good enough on defense to where they would look good on a great TEAM defensively...
so i don't see how it's some big mountain to hurdle...
