Dorrell is not decent. He's been burned by everyone. We even tried Monta on Durant because it got so bad :/
Not that drastically when he's playing beside Curry and Dorrell and with David Lee in the front court. This is just like when David Lee was supposed to improve our rebounding....and we were still dead last in rebounding differential...Trying band aids instead of addressing the issues head on.
Well if you're tasking him with containing Kevin Durant, then yeah, he's going to get crushed.
Sounds more like a product of horrible team defense and just a bad defensive unit overall though. Dorell is not a defensive anchor or anything, so he's not going to take over that end of the floor on his own. On a good defensive team he fits in and does his part. On a part defensive team he probably isn't as effective.
In Miami on the third ranked defensive unit in basketball he was a solid defender. Chalmers, Wade, Dorell, and Q-Rich were all good two years ago.
Warriors just have to use him better and take advantage of his length + athleticism. He can be more of a complete player if coached the right way.
