Have you ever watched the Warriors play defense?
I was commenting on the "he's not a big man so his impact will be minimized" part.

Like I said earlier.... Dorell Wright is GSW's only decent defender. Iggy improves that defense drastically. Not world class or anything of course as he's just one player, but he'd make a huge difference. And he brings a lot of other qualities to the table.

Warriors just have to ask themselves if Curry can become a consistent enough scorer to pick up the slack if they are to move Monta.

Monta Ellis plays 40 minutes per game on average...The time he isn't on the floor is an outlier and the time he is greatly coincides with the +/- numbers of a bad basketball team.
the clippers were a.ss last year and they were still +5.1 per 48 with blake on the floor playing 38 minutes a night. the sorry team excuse isnt cuttin it. the difference between steph and monta was 11.4 last year and 13 two years ago. 7 minutes a night isnt long enough to make up that differential.

Those 8 minutes are not evenly distributed. He's not literally playing 40 MPG every night...He's playing huge minutes when it's close or being blown out and sitting only when we have a good enough lead.

Dorrell is not decent. He's been burned by everyone. We even tried Monta on Durant because it got so bad :/

Not that drastically when he's playing beside Curry and Dorrell and with David Lee in the front court. This is just like when David Lee was supposed to improve our rebounding....and we were still dead last in rebounding differential...Trying band aids instead of addressing the issues head on.

thats not explaining the bloated point differential over the past few years at all tho. it'd be one thing if gsw's point differential itself was bloated but its not (2.3 last year and 3.6 two years ago) or if he logged heavy minutes when they were getting blown out but its not the case.

The only source they gave said a trade was imminent pending Rod Thorn's decision.

This fake article says the trade is done.

The guy who wrote the article has no source, insight or any knowledge of trade negotiations.

Like I said, stop posting from Yardbarker.

The point differential is bloated because it's on a per48 minute basis...A small sample however negative it is, extrapolated over 48 minutes..will be bloated.

bloated in the sense that it's not as bad as it looks but the fact remains that its terrible. monta's peers(in the 15-30 range) like john wall, kevin love, andrew bogut, and blake griffin are all logging heavy minutes on bad teams and still putting up respectable point differentials when they're on the floor. as a matter of fact the worst point differential of that bunch, wall, was a rookie often dealing with injuries on one of the worst teams in the league and he still putting up a -5.0 per 48.

monta plays 2 more minutes than blake a night on a better team and there's a 11.7 per 48 difference in their point differential in favor of blake. 40 minutes a night isnt some plateau that makes that difference acceptable.

Blake played in two more games...and still didn't play nearly as many minutes..You're trying to extrapolate something from a small sample size..when that failed..you compare two players on two different teams..playing a fairly large difference of minutes...Fallacious argument is failing.

you're kidding me right. how can you write off the 144 minutes gsw compiled without monta on the court as too small a sample size and the 125 more minutes he played than blake as some chasm between the two. and that different teams aspect of this does nothing to help your argument when gsw is a better team than lac in terms of point differential.
