Monta Ellis is a.ssisted on 41% of his shots

Curry is a.ssisted on 42% of his shots

Not to mention, Monta is a much better passer and defender.

Without Monta on the court? That's called an outlier.
how many of those a.ssist are from steph?

how many of the other shots are a.ssisted because of steph?

Monta doesn't have the ability to take over games as an sg like Kobe, Wade, or even Melo (not an sg but is a shooter)

Warriors are better off keeping the player who is more efficient and can run their offense

and Monta IS NOT a better passer LOL

How do yall not understand how much sense this makes for the Warriors fit wise?

Sometimes it's not all about the better individual talent/player.

i like iggy but i like the trade cause it'll bring a flat out scorer. we probably didn't have a guy average more than 15 last year. i really hope bismack biyombo slips to us in the draft too . he could be a rebounding defensive role guy

The problem is that Iggy is more ball dominant than Monta and is a worse offensive player. We still have sh*tty defenders at every other position if this trade goes through. Trust me, his impact won't be that great without other big changes.

warriors were 6.6 points per 48 mins worse with monta on the court last year and 11.4 two years ago. their defense specifically crumbles when he gets on the floor.

curry meanwhile was +4.8 per 48 last year and +2.6 his rookie year.

Already spoke enough on this subject. I think it's one of those rare player-for-player trades where both teams improve. Almost never happens in sports. They're two totally different players and though I think Monta is the better player, Iggy fits in next to Curry better than Monta, whereas Monta is exactly the high power scorer the Sixers have longed for since they sent AI to Denver.

Said this before and I'll say it again - DWIGHT HOWARD SHOULD SIGN WITH PHILLY NEXT SUMMER!

Holiday / Williams
Ellis / Turner / Meeks
Young / ?
Brand / Speights
Howard / Hawes

This team is ELITE right off the bat and very young at that.

Iggy's play making skills and his ability to be one of the best defenders in basketball is a perfect fit next to Steph Curry in the backcourt for GS. Tons of open looks ahead for Curry and Dorell. It's too bad Beidrins hasn't panned out for them.

Curry can't set Monta up with anything easy. He's a terrible PnR player and a worse passer.

Monta doesn't have the ability to take over games as an sg like Kobe, Wade, or even Melo (not an sg but is a shooter)
See: 41 in Boston
28 in a half against the Spurs
37 in Dallas with 7 healthy players
37 against Kobe and L.A.

Warriors are better off keeping the player who is more efficient and can run their offense
Statistics don't occur in a vacuum. When Tay was the 3rd option he was scoring 20 on 53% shooting. because he got the benefit of Baron and Jax
and Monta IS NOT a better passer LOL
but he is....much better...and a much better decision maker.

May not be a smart trade for Philly (probably could have gotten better to fill their desperate needs), but nonetheless they should be fun to watch next season.

Monta Ellis plays 40 minutes per game on average...The time he isn't on the floor is an outlier and the time he is greatly coincides with the +/- numbers of a bad basketball team.

trading a top ten scorer for a guy who averaged 14 PPG wtf, looks like Golden State wants nothing to do with golden trophies

He's arguably the best perimeter defender in basketball next to LeBron.... Iggy plays a very good overall floor game.

Have you ever watched the Warriors play defense? That should explain it all. Dorell Wright is probably the only decent defender on that entire roster.

But everyone else he plays with will be a terrible defender.. He's not a big man so his impact is minimized.
