Source: Iguodala and Ellis Deal is Done?

As the NBA Draft nears, the trade-winds are beginning to blow.

Its
[pic - click to view]

reported that the Andre Iguodala for Monta Ellis deal is imminent, pending a final decision from Philadelphia 76ers President Rod Thorn.

The Sixers are sitting in an unfamiliar position with Iguodala, who's contract has long made the thought of trading him improbable. With a renewed commitment to defense and a more evident propensity to be a role player, Iguodala has suddenly become very attractive.

The Sixers would benefit from Ellis' scoring ability while the Warrior's would strengthen their defensive backbone and add a versatile supporter for Stephen Curry.

"At the very least, Ellis is available for the right price, as the Sixers have a deal on the table for Ellis if they want him. The Warriors are looking for ways to improve their team defense and Iguodala would definitely do that. [Via Hoopsworld]"

The Sixers have also had interest in Los Angeles Clippers Center Chris Kaman.

Kaman, a solid NBA veteran and a much needed post presence does not offer the same excitement as an Ellis, but may ultimately be a better option.

its a start but you giving up defense and size.

who ever is at the 3 and 4 need to be shooters and at least 6'7.

they need to get rid of brand and thats not gonna happen.

I like this move for the warriors...but i think it will set the sixers back unless turner's about to step his game up.

pretty much turner has to step up or they are gonna be still in a sh*tty position.

if they can get rid of brand that would be their best accomplishment.

I'd say that Mark Jackson would prefer having curry instead of ellis

Warriors need a defensive presence and iggy gives them one

this does not make sense, stupid for both sides. Both teams are in the same position as last year if not worst.

it helps warriors more than sixers imo...if evan turner doesn't step up it will be a bad luck but i am glad evan turner will get the opportunity with Andre on the team he didn't have that

Already spoke enough on this subject. I think it's one of those rare player-for-player trades where both teams improve. Almost never happens in sports. They're two totally different players and though I think Monta is the better player, Iggy fits in next to Curry better than Monta, whereas Monta is exactly the high power scorer the Sixers have longed for since they sent AI to Denver.

Said this before and I'll say it again - DWIGHT HOWARD SHOULD SIGN WITH PHILLY NEXT SUMMER!

Holiday / Williams
Ellis / Turner / Meeks
Young / ?
Brand / Speights
Howard / Hawes

This team is ELITE right off the bat and very young at that.

Iggy's play making skills and his ability to be one of the best defenders in basketball is a perfect fit next to Steph Curry in the backcourt for GS. Tons of open looks ahead for Curry and Dorell. It's too bad Beidrins hasn't panned out for them.
