same sh*t. 20 years is 20 light years. It would be 40 years earth years.
Nah. If you traveling at the speed of light relative time slows down. So somone traveling 20 years at the speed of light would find that decades or centuries have passed in relative "Earth" time when they finally slow down.

Whose to say life can only be supported via oxygen? We just happen to breathe it but thats not to say life somewhere else couldn't survive on carbon dioxide. Come on folks, think for a moment.

Does anybody find it weird that we age at all? If a cell replicates perfect once, it should be able to replicate again perfectly(not aging).

so how many years would you have to sit in a claustrophobic ship with a crew of people before you get there?

using math that is probably wrong as a muthafu*ka, it would take about 535,324 years using current technology to get to this planet

idk. i think you are right but you are wrong.

you seem to be correcting the guy who says 40 years but i think you both are right. light year is the distance light travels in one year. that time is earth time. so if its 20 light years youre talking 20 years. you say, someone traveling a the speed of light for 20 years would find centuries passed on earth. right, but also how does that person even measure time. for him it could be 1 second yet 20 billion years on earth. which would mean he traveled 20 billion light years. simply 20 light years is 20 years. time perceived from earth, not the traveler.
