Yea n*gga ether..hence why everybody agreed with me and laughed at your a.ss...

You seriously think Common supports cop k!lling? He supported a couple people who he thinks were WRONGLY convicted of cop k!lling..both of who were black activists. I'm sure he's speaking highly of their work as black activists and not of cop k!lling(which he doesn't believe is true.)

Like Jon has said, there's people who've supported people just as bad and there was no backlash against it. The only reason this is ANY deal at all is because Common is a rapper.
So you believe its a ether because people with no real knowledge of the situation agreed with you on a hip hop site?

And who are you to speak of how you think common was thinking? Those people were not wrongly convicted. Stop a.ssuming.

People agreed with me because I provided real knowledge of the situation.

And who are you to speak on how he was thinking? I could say the same thing to you..doesn't make this a big deal in any way.

Of what situation you went off subject and got into water boarding.

We are currently talking about the real situation at hand. Anyone defending or shouting out anyone who has been labeled a law enforcement k!ller and then escapes and goes into cuba and then visits that person in cuba should not be allowed inside the white house, not matter if a republican president or democratic president invites them.

That's the situation at hand, not water boarding

Lmao at saying that I went off subject..n*gga YOU went off subject. I said that the only reason this was a big reason was because Osama was caught on Obama's watch. You then dedicated a long a.ss paragraph to that in your next reply and went off topic with a couple other people getting in debates about that sh*t.

And Lmao @ escaping to Cuba. He visited someone who was a black activist. Someone who defended some of the rights that he wanted as a black American. Nothing in his work or in his personal life reflect that he promotes k!lling cops. And you know this sh*t you're just trying to play dumb.

Bottom line is, if you want to say Common isn't invited to the White House, you also have to say Bono, Springsteen, Dylan, Cash(when he was alive), and various other people aren't invited as well...and the list would be getting pretty damn long.

Btw..this wasn't even the prime part of the argument a week ago. Fox news first argued against his lyrics and the poem he did for Def Poetry Jam and then completely changed that argument when they found out they weren't going to win trying to condemn him for his lyrics as he used metaphors that they took out of context to defend their argument. You sound just as dumb as them right now.

This n*gga so stupid
First of all "fox just mad cause osama was caught under obama's watch" is just plain stupid

Imma make it real simple for idiots like you;

Common has a song called 'A song for a.ssata' here are the lyrics.
(Common)
In the Spirit of God.
In the Spirit of the Ancestors.
In the Spirit of the Black Panthers.
In the Spirit of a.ssata Shakur.
We make this movement towards freedom
for all those who have been oppressed, and all those in the struggle.
Yeah. yo, check it-

There were lights and sirens, gunshots firin
Cover your eyes as I describe a scene so violent
Seemed like a bad dream, she laid in a blood puddle
Blood bubbled in her chest, cold air brushed against open flesh
No room to rest, pain consumed each breath
Shot twice wit her hands up
Police questioned but shot before she answered
One Panther lost his life, the other ran for his
Scandalous the police were as they kicked and beat her
Comprehension she was beyond, tryna hold on
to life. She thought she'd live with no arm
that's what it felt like, got to the hospital, eyes held tight
They moved her room to room-she could tell by the light
Handcuffed tight to the bed, through her skin it bit
Put guns to her head, every word she got hit
"Who shot the trooper?" they asked her
Put mace in her eyes, threatened to blast her
Her mind raced till things got still
Opened her eyes, realized she's next to her best friend who got k!lled
She got chills, they told her: that's where she would be next
Hurt mixed wit anger-survival was a reflex
They lied and denied visits from her lawyer
But she was buildin as they tried to destroy her
If it wasn't for this german nurse they woulda served her worse
I read this sister's story, knew that it deserved a verse
I wonder what would happen if that woulda been me?
All this sh*t so we could be free, so dig it, y'all.

(Cee-lo vocals)
I'm thinkin' of a.ssata, yes.
Listen to my Love, a.ssata, yes.
Your Power and Pride is beautiful.
May God bless your Soul.

(Common)
It seemed like the middle of the night when the law awakened her
Walkie-talkies cracklin, I see 'em when they takin her
Though she kinda knew,
What made the ride peaceful was the trees and the sky was blue
Arrived to Middles3x Prison about six inna morning
Uneasy as they pushed her to the second floor in
a cell, one cot, no window, facing hell.
Put in the basement of a prison wit all males
And the smell of misery, seatless toilets and centipedes
She'd exercise, (paint?,) and begin to read
Two years inna hole. Her soul grew weak
Away from people so long she forgot how to speak
She discovered frredom is a unspoken sound
And a wall is a wall and can be broken down
Found peace in the Panthers she went on trial with
One of the brothers she had a child with
The foulness they would feed her, hopin she's lose her seed
Held tight, knowing the f!ght would live through this seed
In need of a doctor, from her stomach she's bleed
Out of this situation a girl was conceived
Separated from her, left to mother the Revolution
And lactated to attack hate
Cause federal and state was built for a Black fate
Her emptiness was filled with beatings and court dates
They fabricated cases, hoping one would stick
And said she robbed places that didn't exist
In the midst of threats on her life and being caged with Aryan whites
Through dark halls of hate she carried the light
I wonder what would happen if that woulda been me?
All of this sh*t so we could be free.
Yeah, I often wonder what would happen if that woulda been me?
All of this sh*t so we could be free, so dig it, people-

(Cee-Lo)
I'm thinkin' of a.ssata, yeah.
Listen to my Love, a.ssata, yeah.
Your Power and Pride, so Beautiful...
May God bless your Soul.
Oooh.

(Common)
Yo
From North Carolina her grandmother would bring
news that she had had a dream
Her dreams always meant what they needed them to mean
What made them real was the action in between
She dreamt that a.ssata was free in they old house in Queens
The fact that they always came true was the thing
Assata had been convicted of a murder she couldna done
Medical evidence shown she couldna shot the gun
It's time for her to see the sun from the other side
Time for her daughter to be by her mother's side
Time for this Beautiful Woman to become soft again
Time for her to breathe, and not be told how or when
She untangled the chains and escaped the pain
How she broke out of prison I could never explain
And even to this day they try to get to her
but she's free with political asylum in Cuba.

(Cee-Lo vocals)
I'm thinkin' of a.ssata, yeah.
Listen to my Love, a.ssata, yeah.
We're molded from the same mud, a.ssata.
We share the same Blood, a.ssata, yeah.
Your Power and Pride, so Beautiful...
May God bless your Soul.
Your Power and Pride, so Beautiful...
May God bless your Soul.
Oooh.

(Assata)
Freedom! You askin me about freedom. Askin me about freedom?
I'll be honest with you. I know a whole more about what freedom isn't
than about what it is, cause I've never been free.
I can only share my vision with you of the future, about what freedom is.
Uhh, the way I see it, freedom is-- is the right to grow, is the right to
blossom.
Freedom is -is the right to be yourself, to be who you are,
to be who you wanna be, to do what you wanna do. (fade out)
Here's her Bio;

Assata Olugbala Shakur (born July 16, 1947[1] as JoAnne Deborah Byron, married name Chesimard[2]) is an African-American activist and escaped convict who was a member of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and Black Liberation Army (BLA). Between 1971 and 1973, Shakur was accused of several crimes and made the subject of a multi-state manhunt.[3][4]

In May 1973 Shakur was involved in a shootout on the New Jersey Turnpike, during which New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster and BLA member Zayd Malik Shakur were k!lled and Shakur and Trooper James Harper were wounded.[5] Between 1973 and 1977, Shakur was indicted in relation to six other alleged criminal incidents—charged with murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, bank robbery, and kidnapping—resulting in three acquittals and three dismissals. In 1977, she was convicted of the first-degree murder of Foerster and of seven other felonies related to the shootout.[6]

Shakur was then incarcerated in several prisons, where her treatment drew criticism from some human rights groups. She escaped from prison in 1979 and has been living in Cuba in political asylum since 1984. Since May 2, 2005, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has classified her as a "domestic terrorist" and offered a $1 million reward for a.ssistance in her capture. Attempts to extradite her have resulted in letters to the Pope and a Congressional resolution. Shakur is the step-aunt of the deceased hip hop icon Tupac Shakur (the sister of his stepfather, Mutulu Shakur). Her life has been portrayed in literature, film and song.[7]

So what you're telling us is that you got your head up your a.ss? At least we’ll understand why you’re stating such opinion. Do you ever watch Glen or Greta or even Hannity? Hell, do you even watch Fox and Friends or even Megyn Kelly? Apparently you aren't paying attention or you refused to see reality, because it doesn't take a genius to figure out that they fu*king hate him. sh*t, I remember the first episode of Hannity (I think it was the day after Obama got elected to office or the same day), this fu*king idiot did an Armagedon montage about the incoming presidency of Obama (technically, it was about Obama destroying America and the GOP taking over when the smoke settle and saving us all) but week's before that, he was on his knees in interviews sucking Bush d!ck. So please, don't come over here barking that bullsh*t, cause no one is buying it. If you want to be stupid, be our guest, but no one in here is retarded to believe you. In the end, Obama is doing the best he can in order to fixed the 8 years of atrocious policies that were passed and conducted by Bush and all the idiots in the right. In the end, this economy didn't get fu*k over by Obama... let's not forget that the previous administration along with the Republicans are to blame solely for this sh*t.

Bruh I honestly feel really bad for you..you are VERY out of touch with reality. Fox News would probably openly admit themselves that they try their damnest to sh*t on Obama every chance they get. Sarah Palin would admit this. Jon Stewart's program is neutral..that's pretty irrelevant.

But back to the point, your inability to look at the first verse in Common's song and see that he isn't celebrating cop k!lling but rather feeling as though someone who he believes did a lot of good in the world was wrongly convicted of cop k!lling proves that you don't even deserve to argue with me in this debate. I can't believe you actually tried to skip past the first verse and then take the hook out of context to prove your point..sh*t's sad really.

What's even more sad is you thinking someone like Common who stars on movies that are in theaters, puts out music that is all over the television and radio, and conducts speeches all across America is not allowed at the White House when sports teams and players, many of who have participated in crimes, would probably be allowed there(if their team won).

Just admit it..this is a non issue. It's just another thing Fox has cooked up trying to stir up some controversy in the hip hop world.

Once again you purposely take sh*t people say out of context to try to prove your point.

Dude meant the criticism that Obama takes from the media is mostly from Fox, which is a conservative network generally. He didn't mean that the majority of Obama's problems come from Fox.
