Too little... too late. The damage has been done and she has indeed dug a hole for herself. I know I won't be supporting any of her new projects in the future.

Ok most hip hop, bottom line is she spoke on a culture she knows nothing about and if she actually sat down and did research she would know there's plenty of real artists out there who rap and never degrade women.
They are most definitely the minority though..I don't blame her at all...she is actually right...

No they aren't, and no she isn't. In a day and age where females call themselves bi*ches on reality TV..I hardly see where calling the ones who act a certain way bi*ches is degrading. There's def. some misogyny in hip hop music but it isn't most of it.

And she said the entire culture anyway. That means everyone who loves it and talks about it including you and me are promoting rapists in her eyes. Wake up.

If the way Boxden sucks off Chris Brown and R kelly is any indication of the way the listeners on Boxden feel about disrespect toward women in hip hop, then most of this site is guilty as charged. I really have no idea but I would be willing to bet if you took every single rap song ever made, an astounding majority would be negative, whether it's about drugs, gang banging, treating women like objects, and generally glorifying a life of crime. What's the difference? Most kids don't listen to Talib Kweli and Will Smith. Get all fu*kin mad, it is what it is.

what i dont understand is how someone in hollywood, the biggest "rape culture" of them all that continually profits from selling an unrealistic image of women to young girls everywhere could come out being a champion against misogyny. she's sold her soul to this sh*t and then got something to say?

But why should hip hop take all of the blame??? Last time that I check, Kesha and katy perry aren't even close to being the best role models for girls either. The first looks like a prostitute and she flaunts stupidity as a badge of honor and the other shooting sh*t off her t*tties doesn't help promote an image about self respect... but instead, promotes an image that your body is the best thing you got as a woman. And what abouts.luts like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan??? 1 is known only to be Hollywood's favorite rich bimbos.lut and promotes selfish narcissistic behavior and the other is a junkie lesbian, so why is she not going after this two? Hell, look at some of this films like the series of National Lampoon or American Pie... are they really as less harmful as a hip hop song??? And if we're going to talk about Chris Brown beating his girl, then let's talk about Tommy Lee beating the sh*t out of Pamela Anderson (Back when they were married) and him giving her Hepatitis B or Charlie Sheen originally being charged with a felony menacing and 3rd degree a.ssault and criminal mischief against his wife (even though the charges were dropped... only because he pleaded to a lesser crime).... and both of this idiots are grown a.ss fu*king man and in society's eyes, they are rock stars and have never been hold accountable for their actions, but instead praise. On the other hand, Chris Brown which never had a criminal record in his life, made on mistake, his young and is still crucified by the media and some of you still think that sh*t is being play fair? (It was even more disgusting to see Whoopi and that other bi*ch Sherri from the View... acting like straight Coons and fu*king a.ss lickers! Both of this hoes made Robyn from the Howard Stern show look like a field n*gga And it was even more funny how all of the sudden Elisabeth Hasselbeck came on Charlie Sheen defense and said he never had a violent record, even though his original charge and the plead would say otherwise) Look... hip hop has a lot of faults, but point being is, Hollywood along with the music industry is just as guilty for promoting misogyny in all spectrums of music. Whether is Rock or Pop or even country and if we're dealing with Hollywood and everyone in the industry is at fault too. More than anything, this exces at this record labels or movie companies are all guilty for cosigning not only for this rappers, but also for the behavior of everyone else around them. I guess she never heard of Buckcherry "Crazy bi*ch" or NIN "Closer" or SOAD "Psycho". The way I see it is this... she was partially right... but really when reading her lame a.ss comeback, that bi*ch was wrong and even her motives were fu*king wrong and just looking back at everything, she wasn't sincere. Too little... too late and the damage has been done.

She said 'hip hop and rap music'. That alone shows how much she really knows, therefore making what she said completely invalid.

^ 1st, that isn't what I said, learn to quote people
^ 2nd, guy is desperately making excuses and avoiding the issue by clinging to her exact wording instead of the larger point. Bro, hip hop is not as a whole contributing to strong positive morals and values, the music shows little respect for women, and yes that attitude can lead to domestic violence, including r*pe.

When a song degrades women it is lowering the value of women in the eyes of the listener and making it more likely that the listener will disrespect women. When you degrade anything it makes it more likely to be disrespected by your peers.

A study of the influence of misogynous rap music on s3xual aggression against females...
-Kent State University- (There are dozens of other studies online, they could be better or worse than this one, I'm not going to go through them all.)

*Btw it's not a racist thing, I've heard Eminem talk about raping more women than any black rapper.

*Some random article of how a dumb kid might use rap as an excuse/be influenced by rap.

Rap fan, 15, given four years for raping girl
By Sue Clough, Courts Correspondent 12:00AM BST 28 Sep 2002
A schoolboy fan of the rap singer DMX was given four years detention yesterday for raping a 13-year-old girl he lured into a meeting using mobile phone text messages.
The prosecution claimed during a hearing at the Old Bailey last month that the 15-year-old boy, of Bexleyheath, south London, had been living out the s3xist lyrics of the American gangster rapper. In one of his songs he says: "If you got a daughter older than 15, I'm gonna r*pe her, take her on the living room floor right now."
The youth had denied the accusation and said the girl consented to s3xual acts. He collapsed when the jury convicted him.
After the hearing, Det Insp Mark Castell urged young people never to give their phone number to anyone they did not know well or to allow friends to do so.

*Not to mention Akon, R Kelly, Chris Brown ect... Tons of cases and investigations online.
*Obviously the video hoe culture deserves mentioning...

Give a fu*k though... be dumb about it.

man she said "most" which most are, she has a right to feel that way look who is played on the radio? damn near every rap song thats on top ten is on some s3xual, pimp sh*t, not all but most as what she said, this sh*t gets disgusting after a while because quest, qtip, and ninth shouldnt have said sh*t thats not there type of music, snoop and puff should have spoke up they make that type of music. Its a person right to have an opinion and i would have had a press release and said yea I said it and i would say it again, this music sh*t today is depressing their are select few rappers I listen too, the main stream rap is on a blueprint, and that is what white america sees, fu*k the culture of rap cuz thats not what is being put on display, n*ggas need to grow up and speak the fu*k up to the truth of the matter. Cats defending this bullsh*t as if this is the rap game from the heyday, n*ggas dropping bullsh*t and cats eating this sh*t up. Wake the fu*k up, and i wish bx brings back the hate button for this thread so i can see how many n*ggas dislike the truth
