Gotta disagree with you there, as Martel said it does take knowledge of music. I wish I knew more about the science behind it so i could craft dope beats.
not hard for me when i do it but i been doing it as a hobby for minute so maybe thats why

Tbh once u start working hard at production or even sound engineering u can hear how poor Hip-hop is. Whether it's the simplistic, cookie cutter, copy paste song structures & instruments or the overall sound quality & mastering.
You will notice a million more things that would've slipped under the radar had u not known about them. It's ruined the whole genre for me.
Songs that would of been 100% dope before are now unlistenable....

As they say "Ignorance Is Bliss"

Believe he is referring to the current state of hip hop in comparison to what it once was.

Outkast is the greatest duo to me. I guess its where you from though in the end. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, ATLiens, Aquemini, & Stankonia- Classics - Love below is on another level non gangsta vibe.

I completely get your drift now, Definitely on the sound quality & mastering. I've been wanting to make a album for the longest, and the more and more i push forward with it I learn doing things myself is the best avenue of approach.

so recently I started getting into trying to make beats/instrumentals for myself, but finding it not as easy as it appears. but the more I read up on production techniques, the science behind them. the way machines and equipment work, i begin to see things the way you seem em.

IDK... I think I'm mostly swayed by the way the vid transitioned into Shook Ones. It's all to convincing when it's done like that. I still think that Thackeray Meets Faculty song could possibly be the sample, it seems more in line with what's actually used on Shook Ones. No way you could prove in a court of law that Havoc used the Hancock song, at least IMO. Which is another reason he'll never confirm which song he truly sampled it from, and why he denies the one below...

I'm amazed it took over 15 years to find this and the Ice Cream sample.

Genius on a crate diggin-producer level, but dumb to let this be a single. It only takes one person with royalties to hear those songs and it's a wrap.

Same sh*t that got Dre and Quik caught up with that Indian artist.

For all the people asking about the dirty version of this song, I actually read an interview with prodigy or havoc(i forgot) and they were explaining that when this song was actually recorded they accidently overlapped the master copy with the clean version and even THEY dont have it..So it looks like the dirty version will forever be edited unless they decide to re-record it.But even then it will definately lose that classic feel it has.
