It wasn't consider the East and it will never be consider the East, as that title for some reason or the other has applied more to the cities in the north east. If that's the case, you can also say that Texas is not in the south, but in the Midwest, because when you look at it, Texas is in the middle of the country, but what do we consider today Texas to be???
