The underdog thing is that way only because most american casuals know nothing about shogun other than what theyve seen from him in the ufc which was him getting submitted by forrest, barely beating coleman and the domination over machida. So he really only has 1 great moment in the us. He shouldnt be the underdog but understanding how bookies work I am not surprised.
Yeah plus the fact that he's coming off of surgery and hasn't fought in almost a year... Shogun's a bad dude though. I hope it's a good f!ght.
I really don't see Jones's behavior as being disrespectful. I mean he's rolling on a hot streak, and he's about to f!ght in front of (basically) his hometown fans. He's talking up a show.
The Champ 2011 thing could be seen as disrespectful, only if you want it to be disrespectful. I've noticed over the years that Greg Jackson works very hard on strengthening his f!ghters mentally. They asked GSP if they though JBJ could win, and he said if JBJ stays strong mentally then yes he can beat Shogun. If JBJ feels like a Champion then he'll f!ght like a Champion. So we'll see if he's blowing smoke or if he's speaking it into existence later tonight...
