EVERYTHING in the league has been scripted since 2000.
So David Stern has been commissioner since 1984 and suddenly in 2000 he decides to rig everything?

after Jordan left, NBA also lost a lot of fans(especially with the lockout a year later), something had to be done to fill in the void.. It's not far fetched to believe the rigging started in 2000..

man of course it was rigged like why the f**k would they put Jennings and Ibaka in it...when they did the commercials all they highlighted were McGee and Griffin. Had Derozan made it to the next round he woulda been too big a threat. McGee made every dunk he tried unintentionally and they still let him keep going, that s**t was despicable.

so if they're gonna rig the Dunk Contest to success, and even BLATANTLY show that it was rigged after that bulls**t Kia ad, why stop there?

why not rig bigger things in the NBA?

Playoffs maybe?

lmao..

IF David Stern started rigging the league, it was way before 2000.

You're telling me that Jordan was the face of the league for over 10 years, brought in hundreds of millions, yet the league wouldn't ensure the Bulls won, but they'd ensure that - since we all know this is about the Lakers - the Lakers won?

So we're going to just sit there and act like MJ wasn't the originator of the superstar call? The league was tailored for him to succeed. Don't try to diminish the Lakers' titles when the same thing could be said about the Bulls.

Facts about Blake Griffin on All-Star Weekend

- Subway spent a reported $3 million in a Blake Griffin media campaign All-Star weekend. ZERO was obviously spent on JaVale McGee of the Wizards.

- NBA officials forced Blake Griffin to use a Kia, the official car sponsor of the league, rather than a higher end car he wanted to use for his final dunk. This product placement paid off in a commercial and possible endorsement deal for Griffin.

- Blake Griffin is the most searched athlete in the world on YouTube. It would have been bad for the NBA’s business if he had lost the dunk contest to a scrub from the Wzards.

- Nike had an entire marketing campaign planned around Blake Griffin winning the dunk contest. They began to reveal the plan this week for the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 10.0 for Blake Griffin.

Mcgee got robbed But this just confirms what everybody already knows. The fan vote was prolly bs too

Rigging the contest for Blake does nothing for the NBA. The reason he had all the hype was *gasp* his play during the season. Winning the contest or not doesn't change that. They already got what they wanted out of the contest (which is get people to tune in).

If anyone actually benefited its Kia, and to a lesser extent other companies (e.g Nike) that want to use him in their campaigns. Even that's disputed since having Blake the face of your campaing isn't gonna make much of a difference in your car sales.

@1:00.
who said anything about the Lakers? And it's very well known that once Jordan left the league was DESPERATE for another superstar, and started to advertise individuals more than teams, more than ever.. They were always looking for MJ replacement, from Iverson to T-Mac, to a young Vince, to Kobe..

I'm not saying the league JUST started rigging the league in 2000, but they became more hands on than they've ever been around that time period..

Let's be f**kin serious here for a second conspiracy idiots, if the NBA was rigged, the last person to know it's rigged would be some random person making 50k a year working on the damn website updating news articles...
