And the funny thing is, space is not the problem, most of the earth is water anyway so if space was the issue, people would be living in ocean cities or at least on Antarctica.

The problem is resource depletion. IMO this just highlights how despite all our talk, man is just another s3x-driven animal. With all our knowledge of mathematics and astrophysics as well as even past civilizations that destroyed themselves because of resource depletion (Easter Island), without a predator to keep us in check, we simply breed our planet into oblivion.

Its because people don't really see their world is connected, and I think there needs to be a strong authority that implements a policy of a maximum of 2 children.
i agree with some of what you said. why do you think it is that the most imporverished areas of the world yield the larger families? wouldnt you think the mindset would be a "less mouths to feed fore for us" type of scenario? i mean if you struggle to provide for yourself why create a larger family?

No you just need to smarten the f**k up.

Up until just recently did the population explode.... right around the same time we started using oil/petrolium products in the 1800's.

Around then the worlds population hit 1 billion people. Since then its ballooned up to 6 billion.... so we eat a hell of a lot more food now then we did even just 100-200 years.

8000 years ago there may have only been 50 million people say.... they're gonna eat waaaaay less then what were gonna eat.

And in the next 40 years if we add nearly 2 billion people the amount of food we eat will go up by 1/3rd of what we already eat now.

Its simple logic.... learn to use some.
Simple logic is that this study is plain BS fear mongering crap that the media feeds us to control us just like global warming, y2k, 2012, hell they even said that water was gonna run out.

Its just BS to you because it said something you thought was wrong, tried to bash it, and when someone put common sense into it you took offense.

Water can run out too btw... safe clean drinking water... not all water in general but the stuff that keeps us alive. Look all over the world, places are running outta water everywhere... hell, the water supply behind the Hoover damn has dropped considerably in recent years.

The world as we know it wasn't made for 9 billion people... especially if were gonna add 1/3rd of the worlds population now in the next 40-50 years. And especially if the places that will see the largest gain of population growth are the poor countries with less resources..

This says nothing about the end of the world or y2k or something like that. But you claim its fear mongering... why? Because it raises concerns for the future of earth.

I didn't take offense to s**t. This "Study" is Bulls**t and you know it. You really think 2 billion people are gonna be born in 40 years? The scientist think they know this s**t, but none of it has been proven. 75% of these studies are just random opinions of a few group of people who think they are important. Whats next we gonna run out of oxygen too

There is nothing we as humans can do about this problem. However, one thing the earth does extraordinarily well is fix and heal itself. We just have to come to the realization that the earth will correct this problem we have created and that we probably will not like the corrective steps nature will take.

i bet they are talking more around 5 billion if you think about all the people that will die off. seems possible though.

lets look at a few charts.

world population growth throughout history

world population growth since 1750

since 1950's the worlds population has doubled.... since 1750 the worlds population has been multiplied by nearly 7 times....

so.... im gonna quote you again....

yes you f**king retard.

in the past 50-60 years 3 BILLION people have been born.

so ask yourself this question.... If in the past 50-60 years 3 billion people have been born, is it wrong to a.ssume that in the next 40-50 years another 2 billion people will be born?

lets take a look at another chart.

[pic - click to view]

in the past 50 years the average lifespan of a human on this earth has gone up by 20 years. with the advancements in medicines and the health fields its safe to a.ssume that in another 50 years the average life of a human will be up around 80-90 years old.

if in 50 years time the world population went up by 3 billion people, then its safe to a.ssume that in 20 years time around 1.25 billion people were born.

if our average life expectancy stays on pace with how its going that means that an extra 1.25 billion people will be born, and countless other people will live much longer then they were expected to at their birth.... making the world population grow at a faster rate because less people are dying off when they should have.

but hey, keep thinking you're right.

ps. if we cut down all the tree's and k!ll off all the plants on earth.... then yes, oxygen will run out.

all of the points here are valid and EVERYTHING is debatable (except for that idiot who thinks africans are "worthless spear chuckers;" look at all the contributions that AFRICANS, not african-americans have given us like, HALF of american culture). the answer is simple but no one has mentioned it. WAR. we need to k!ll each other off and some idiot is going to find a good enough reason to want to k!ll a bunch of people. more people will only = larger-scale war. i say bring it on. if WWIII means the end of humans, it means nothing about the end of life or even intelligent life. the earth is halfway through its existence and it will def heal itself.
