Why do black people pronounce "Street" as "Skreet?"
Why do black people use 'is' and 'are' incorrectly?
Why do black people pronounce any word ending with 'th' as though it were 'ph'?
some people just speak that way, and when it hit mainstream that some rappers talk like that, being where they are from, people took their "slang" or accent, as the thing to say. about the butchering the eng. language.. two wrongs don't make a right.. plus it would make sense to say a term that actually has slang to it. 50 always was "fifty cent" never any switch up to his name, so enough with that. But i noticed alot of songs had SHORTY in it.. in songs, and it was "shorty"..but when some of these Atlanta artists came out, they said the same thing just with a southern ..drawl? is that it? so it sound like "SHAWTY" and then ppl starting talking like that. and it stuck. But not all white people are the same, and not all black folk are the same either, so don't put ppl in the same boat.
