To see the grand central station like that just disappoints me. I live in Indy and went up a few years ago and drove around Detroit. It was just disappointing man. Hopefully they do something to get it turned around

Windsor, the neighbouring Canadian city to Detroit is another s**thole but s**t looks like the promised land compared to Detroit.

I'm sorry but it must be done...

I was goin to post it but you beat me to it

On tha realz Detroit is pretty bad, it was nicknamed the Armpit of America, but right now people should be investing there cuz the losses would be minimal & the gains would be impressive. All i'm gonna say is that people are gonna be surprised at the potential that city has, if done right it can be a midwest version of Atlanta.

PS:I've been to DEtroit & the Downtown area had some nice parts but the rest is comparable to a third world country which made me want to forget my visit to the D.

damn, thats crazy.
but why did they leave all these buildings standing?
it costs money to knock those muf**kas down man. You gotta hire ppl, get the equipment, the permits and then you knock em down, where you gonna put the debris? After you add all that up it's just cheaper to leave it there.

Im kind of surprised some wealthy people havent knocked down all the buildings and fixed it up to try and make bank. Im sure someone could do work on that city and make it beautiful again.

The city isn't compareable to a 3rd world country. If you think it is go to iraq and afghan. Those are third world countries and we are nowhere near that. I know first hand. As far as modern day , they showed some old buildings and nothing new, that's not modern day Detroit. It's the s**tty parts put together for people to make ignorant a.ssumptions bout the city. The city will rebound and when we do everyone will hope on the 1st train back. The dude that said it's becoming an artistic type scene is correct. It's a movement in the city that alot of people won't and don't see cause they only focus on the negative. If you ever come to the city I'll take you on a tour and will completely change your mind bout what the media makes you believe. Sure it's bad parts but show me one major city in America that doesn't have any. From skid row to the projects that once greeted you on 94 when you entered Chicago , that's the world. If Detroit didn't have a majority black population then it'd be getting hella aid and they'd only focus on the positive. Ima be apart of the change. And be proud once we get back on top.

also the reason the d is so bad is because its like the only major city to border Canada so they let all the drug in and it turned in to a violent town as soon as the jobs left

damn, lookin at these pics i was like "was there an earthquake or some huge s**t that i missed in the news?" and then i read the article. didnt know detroit was so bad. i always expected the worst to be in the deep south somewhere.
i understand that the media took pictures of the worst-of-the-worst, and personally i sort of found it beautiful in an artistic sense, but it sounds like most of the city is like that. you can claim there are beautiful parts and all, but you have to admit you sure as s**t want change in your city.
